This guy is so underrated by Celtics fans. We have a better up version of big baby with a consistent jump shot, actual post game, and the ability to rebound as well as a good work ethic. When he comes back, he will be solid and consistent. Im personally pumped up to see him come back next year.

I am as big of a Sully fan as almost anyone, and I think, if he is healthy, he can be a very good starter, or even an All-Star.

But the back scares me.  You don't stake your future on a bad back.  Hopefully he can get better to help this team compete next year, but longterm, that will always be a concern.

Our future is Jeff Green

I find this amusing coming from a Rondo detractor...oh but Jeff green will save us!  ::)

Sully's a part of the future.  I don't think he's going to be the big stud the franchise needs that can carry the team on his back to a win but I think he could be a really solid piece of a championship team.

If his back problems aren't chronic then yeah he can be part of our future.  If not his career in Boston will be quite short lived.

Our future is Jeff Green

That is going to be terrible.

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
I want Sully to stay healthy so bad. The thought of a Celtic big who can rebound on both boards is a dream

It *would* be terrible, but it's unlikely to happen.

Then again, if you could go into the playoffs with Rondo and someone better than Rondo you'd be a formidable opponent, although Green probably won't get to that level.

I don't see him as a franchise player, but can definitely be that quality #2 option.

I'm sorry, but Jeff Green's *not* the future, he's a guy who STILL - how many years into his career? - hasn't shown any consistency at all.  Occasionally spectacular, but you can't just think about those half-dozen games and forget all the other...  well, forgettable ones.

Sully; when was the last time you heard of a back getting better?

KG's just about done; I'd call it 50/50 he comes back for another season, at best.  And once he's gone, Pierce is out the door too, either via trade or retirement.  Probably trade; he's still a [dang] good player.

Rondo's the only guy I'd count on as a potentially elite player going forward, but let's see how his petulance plays out when the team's in full-rebuild mode.  I suspect it won't be pretty.

I'm rooting [dang] HARD for these guys to show some fire during these next few games, because I'm real worried that the end is neigh.  Or, in the wise words of Michael Ray Richardson, "the ship be sinkin!"

Why can't guys just be "good role players"?

Sully, AB, Melo and Green (maybe.  I still think he will be traded at some point) all are or could be strong role players in either a starting or reserve role on a contender.

Rondo is the only youngish guy on the Celtics I would think about putting the "future and now" moniker, but to be great, I want him to be the co-"future and now" guy.

I think we're all high on Sullinger. Good kid, high BBIQ, big ass, long arms, nice touch around the basket. He's not the future though. He'll be a top 5 player for the Celts but he won't be the best player (or I at least hope not).

He can do the dirty work, knock down some jumpers and do a little work on the post. He'll never avg 25 & 10, or anything that would be deserving of the label "future" (i.e. superstar).

That's what he pretty much is right now and it's not working out very well for us at the moment.

He should be gladthat he received any votes at all cause hes a vastly overrated defender. The fact that he came ahead of Noah is very, very sad.
