We've been up and down all season long with injuries and stuff.  But New York, even though they have a better record, have been streaky all season long as well.  In the midst of the chaos that was this season, we've seen this team beat the best of 'em and lose to the worse of 'em.  Come playoffs I think we will need one of those monster New York games from Paul Pierce.  Also they've never seen this starting line up with Jeff Green, which I think is the edge we have going against them.  How do you like our chances?

I like our chances against tha Knicks in any round. I keep saying Tha Knicks will have a hard time if you take away tha 3 point line. No matter who they face in tha playoffs, they'll eventually die by tha 3. And they'll die by it in tha first round against tha C's.

Why wouldn't you like your chances against NY? They are one-dimensional. This is a team that lives and dies by the 3. Granted Melo is playing ball on a whole different level, but lets be real here, you put KG on him and there is no way he goes off for 40-50.

Hate you guys, but rooting for you to make the ECF and rape Miami.

Good luck gang green.

I think New York are a very difficult team for most of the league to matchup against but Boston is one of the few clubs who actually matchup well with them.

Knicks fans should be worried.

I am more nervous this year than most but I think we can beat them.   I already made a bet of a soda pop with one of my coworkers ( I know big spender/ high roller eh)that we would win.

But there is a caveat in my projection, I don't think we can beat them without KG.

I don't think the Knicks are legit contenders.

As for us... it totally depends.  I've played this "we'll show up for the playoffs" game for the last few years and it hasn't failed me, going against doubters and experts who pick against the C's, but this year?  I'm afraid the floor might be falling out.  Rondo also carries in the playoffs so without him against tough defenses, I don't know if we will be able to score.

if JR Smith ever stops playing out of his mind or loses his touch, the Knicks sink like lead ballon.

Smith can be stopped.  Let Melo have 40 points,  put the lock down on Smith and the party is over .

48 minutes of defensive attention on the threes  tumbles the Knicks.

No plan for beating the heat..... :'(

Down here in the city, Knicks fans are awfully confident regarding their ownership of the Celtics this season. It's funny . .. like nobody remembers that it's been over a decade since the Knicks even won a playoffs series.

That said, I think they do have the clear edge, but it's going to be a great series. Jeff & Avery healthy this year = Rondo healthy last year. Those additions balance out the subtraction in my opinion. We have a shot but it will be a dogfight. Camby / Sheed (set to come back) and Chandler could give us trouble down low.

Just based upon this team's past playoff play, I say yes.  We always seem to make Carmelo work hard for his points, and traditionally we've defended the 3PT line well (3rd in 3PT%-allowed this year).

I think we'll be okay.

I agree with what someone posted here before, locking down Smith will force Melo to carry the load. Let him shoot his team out of the playoffs  :)

Realistically though, I have no idea what to expect. I think it could go either way

I think it will be a tough series, certainly tougher than our playoff match-ups with the Knicks in the past few years have been.  That being said, I believe the Celtics should and will win.
