Postgame: Doc Rivers continually referenced his team's poor offensive continuity and said their 107 points were "fool's gold."

Glad to see skinny Vinnie freaking out already. Hypocrits to the end Criticize Rondo all you like, you would love it if Kite did that. Send a message. But, no, all the naysayers who love nothing more than crapping on this team. Ugh, what a joke. I think I'm out. All the bs starting again.

Wisest thing I can do: say good bye to the game thread and all the idiotic, ass-backwards "fans" here. Sorry all you good lot, and there are many. Just takes a few Vinnies and it turns to dung. This stuff brings me down. Know your negativitity seeps out there. Hope you enjoy being that guy. Someone has to do it, but can't imagine it is fun.

that's funny - i agree with most of vinnie's comments - i'd say he sees the game pretty clearly - and i played the game.

and Jeff Green is still awful.

Positives:
Celtics outrebounded the Heat 41>36
More offensive boards 7>5
More fast break points 27>12

Turnovers killed us (15). You can't afford careless mistakes against a team like Miami. It usually results in them scoring.

Boston shot 52% from the field and 46% from the 3. That's amazing; however, Miami shot better (54 & 50). We have a well-balanced, versatile, offensive game.

Rondo made some mistakes but he went 20-13-7 and was 9-14 from the field. We're definitely on the right track.

I still think they can do it, but woooo this defense is horrid. They need to work on their defense big time if they want to win his year.
slept on fact is dat last year Boston gave up ova 100 points in da 1st 2 games against NY nd Miami eventually we held teams under 100 for 30 straight games nd lead da league in a lot of defensive stats we'll be fine

Yes, our offense is going to be very good this year.

Worried we might have a systemic issue on D though.  Our PnR D has been bad since the beginning of pre-season.

Eh, I've played the game too (D-III if it matters). But that is also the dumbest matrix to judge comments on. How many idiot commentators dismiss smayer people by blanketly saying "they never played" Agree with that and you're Reggie Miller. Point being the negative Nancys are a dead weight. Kill Green all you want but base it on something. I personally believe he will be a [dang] good player for this team. But the sky is falling ONE GAME into the season. Well funk that. This thread gets hijacked by those opiniomns way too fast and it isn't fun to be here. So have fun.

But do know, the outright negativitty drives away people who like rooting for this team, and like having a place to cheer with fellow fans. And maybe the stalwarts don't care but in the end seeing the negative comments at the second quarter of game one of 82, well forget it, you already killed the potential fun of this place at the outset. Maybe that sounds all rosy cheeked rah rah but I don't really feel like spending my time ina place where the doom and gloom is the norm I get enough of that in my daily life.

The Celtics are an improved offensive team from last year. That is nice to see. I am not concerned about the defense yet - what I saw tonight looked more like new guys trying to fit into the system. Rondo was Rondo - and his statline is nice. He did make some mistakes - a lot of Green did - but even with the below-average defensive effort tonight, they were in this game most of the night.

No shame losing to the Heat - I despise them, but they have a lot of talent. Boston stood up tonight, but had a defensive let down. Next time they play the Heat it will be a different story.

Why didn't Doc play Darko at all? Why don't you force Mia to play our way, not their way!!! Darko could have at the least put a shiver in some spines! Sully was not good on D as I have said forever. Doc didn't force him in the second half, good move. Bass played well as I expected! RR was great when he was aggressive but I thought he wasn't enough (aggressive play by Barbosa is what got us into the game)! When you allow Mia's D to set up, they are good on rotations. Barbosa was like a blur for real, that is what hurt Mia. His D on Ray really also helped (he shut Ray down and I said Ray would be a no show second half)! Terry is bad on D but he had an off night on offense, everyone does! I love Lee... he was containing Wade much like AB would but picked up ticky-tac fouls and his shot was falling but we went away from him too much. I hated Doc's rotations, he lucked into a working line-up at the end! It angers me that he won't go outside the box unless he is forced to, it seems like he coaches after he sees what the other team is doing. Jet was off offensively, you already know he is bad on D... go to someone else, it's that simple. Turns out, he did it too late. Green was terrible tonight on both ends... him not producing offensively made him not go all out on defense... he let one end dictate how he was on the other. I guess Wilcox is still hurt b/c he was inactive but could've helped. Doc has to play big and small, you can't just play the way Mia wants to... our depth is to lull a team with one way then bust out another type of lineup altogether, keep them guessing!

Funny enough, this game only further lets me know we can beat them. When our team starts clicking, we got this! As long as Doc plays our game and not theirs! I know it was preseason but Mia can't handle size, Doc didn't even TRY it... I mean, we were down already, why not throw something different out there? With that said, if Green and Terry had been themselves, outcome may have been different.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

you get a little fired up yourself, smoker. interesting though, i was D-III as well.

my criticism of Green is not based on tonite's game all by itself. he played tonite like he played 2 years ago when we got him in Danny's disastorous trade which he is still trying to justify (recently by the insane contract he awarded Green.

Green got lost way too much trying to guard James tonite and that is one of the supposed main reasons we acquired him.  he doesn't appear to have real good lateral mobility on defense, he gets hung up on screens and on offense, his supposed athleticism is nowhere in sight - he didn't get a step on anybody on his drives to the basket and where were his high-flying fast break dunks off feeds from Rondo.

it's not just tonite - it is the fact that tonite he looked no different than he did 2 years ago and this time he had a full training camp. great move Danny.

and yes, Perk > Green
