Be interesting to see how much time he gets.  Have to believe he is ahead of Collins on the depth chart, but is he behind both KG and Wilcox at the 5?  Does KG move back to the 4 at times?   We have 7 guys at the 4/5 on the roster, which is more than any time in a while, if memory serves...

Melo and Collins won't be in the rotation I would think, and KG, Bass, Wilcox should all be in...so do both Sully and Darko play regularly, or just one of them?

If he can give us PJ Brown type minutes that would be a dream come true. But considering all he has to do is beat out Wilcox and he is starting center he could be seeing more that 10 min. a game.

Hope his knee is OK no more JO's please.
I'm not getting where you think Chris Wilcox is this team's starting center. KG is the starting center and will be playing 25-30 MPG. After that the C's need Darko, Collins and Melo to fill in for the remainder of the game at center without causing the C's to go negative on the scoreboard.

People keep saying that just because we have not had a reliable starting center since Perk. KG can't play Center for 82 games, why else would Danny bring in both Collins and Darko and draft Mello. Stats do not necessarily determine starting lineups.

Because he knows KG can only play 25-30 MPG during the regular season.

KG can play 82 games at center, btw. He was one of the best centers in the league the last half of last year. At this point in his career, KG is a center. He can't guard the more athletic and perimeter oriented PFs in this league anymore.

Also, given Danny's luck with centers he brings in that get injured, having a bunch of centers is probably necessary.

Sure he can play 82 games at center I just don't think that is the best thing to do given the need to preserve him for the post-season. Otherwise Darko is just injury protection. I agree that KG may be a more natural Center than Wilcox or Sullinger; but why would Danny tell Sulinger  that he would have to learn how to play center, when he was first introduced, if he wanted to play KG major minutes in that position.

Darko had his best game beating up on Blake Griffin. We will make teams pay for going small. Darko loves to make Pau Gasol look like an idiot and has done it. He is not Perk; but very few teams can match up with Darko and KG.

I think you are reading way, way too much into that fairly innocuous comment Danny made to Sullinger. Think about it why would he say that? Perhaps it has more to do with Sully's body type, physical conditioning, lack of athleticism, and horrid perimeter defense.

If Sullinger if playing with anyone else in the front court but Fab Melo, he HAS to guard the center position because just about every other big man on the team can guard perimeter 4's better than Sullinger. And given that this league is transforming into one where perimeter athletic 4's are the norm and players like Karl Malone and Kevin McHale playing the 4 are extremely rare, then of course, Sullinger will have to learn to play center. He's going to have to guard centers almost exclusively until he can drop some weight and improve his perimeter defense, that is unless he is playing alongside Melo, which I doubt will happen this much because Melo is such a project.

I think Darko and KG is an excellent starting pair of bigs in most matchups, but I wouldnt sell Wilcox and KG short as starters either. The trouble is that KG is the common denomintator and everyone else is just a compliment to him, starter or reserve.

Darko and Bass? Bass and Wilcox? Maybe if we can control the pace with a really dominant PG, SG and SF in a real live running offense.

We simply dont have that second dominant bigman yet. WHen KG comes of the floor we come down a few notches defensively and in the paint in general. Maybe we will get lucky and it will be Sullinger of Melo at some point in the future.

It is just too soon to consider Sullinger a real factor in our bigman rotation. Does he need to lose weight? Sure, wouldnt hurt. Should he learn to play some center? Absolutely if he wants any minutes.

I do wish Darko could hit a free throw.

This is an understatement. Career 57% is not anything to be proud of for anyone.

i DO NOT like basically swapping roster spots by adding Milicic (low intensity head case) and losing Keyon Dooling (high intensity team player).

sounds like Darko is not Celtics material and Keyon was an All-Green guy. don't underestimate Dooling's value as an important friend for Rondo - Rondo is all-heart, all-talent and needs a human nerve pill sometimes.

bottom line is Keyon loved playing for Boston and had talent, Darko sounds like he has some talent and size, but little else. oh well, maybe KG has a training camp talk with Darko and lets him know that he is now a Celtic and the casual approach don't cut it here.

Thank You Keyon - i wanted you to stay.

Talent and size is a pretty good start.  We'll see if being a member of the Boston Celtics helps him between the ears.  I think there's a good chance that it will.

I really hope Darko doesn't start.  That means the celtics are relying on him somewhat.  I don't think thats very smart.  Let him do what he does as a bonus off the bench.

Darko + Beast should never EVER be used together

I am surprised it took this long for someone to call me out on this. I was/am a huge Perk fan and was using this title to shake things up a bit. I was not suggesting that Darko is Perk if you look at the initial post the video of Darko laying out Perk was really what started it.

Some one said Darko is a Gangster. Perhaps that is more appropriate. I do worry that Darko's emotional side could be a volatile mix with KG's; but both do pride themselves on their defense and that can only be good.
