GeoCities Celtics message board (don't remember the year, but I was still using WebTV,  ;) .  When that closed, on to the Globe.   Used my real name in those days.   When that closed I lurked at all the Celtics sites I could find, finally starting to chat on this one.

I remember a poster named Brandon Stahl, who was studying to be a MD, questioning my intelligence for using WebTV, so I wouldn't join another group, but lurked for years.

Hey Brandon, if you are still out there, I haven't gotten any smarter since then.  ;D

...I've dabbled in posting on a couple of other boards, including RealGM, but I like the quality of content an decorum better over here.

Haha.  Funny about that.  There used to be a mod over there that was just drunk with the "power" of being a mod.  He was like Cartman as Hall Monitor.

If I ever lose my job and have lots of time on my hands, I may start my own lunch critique over here.

Anybody remember the Mean Green Forum?  The webmaster was a guy named Allessandro.  He used to post on here too for a couple years after he shut down that site.

The logo was pretty awesome - It was a closeup of the Incredible Hulk's face, with a ginger Leprechaun beard and that bowler hat that Lucky wears.  Very cool posters there, back in the day.

Yeah thats the one I was thinking about when I posted in the lurkers thread.  I remember Allessandro and I was thinking Jon posted there a lot.

Celticsblog was where I started.  I think it was after it was mentioned by either Chad Ford or Bill Simmons in a chat, I checked it out.

I started in the Globe Chat Room with a bunch of the old guard on here... around the time of the Ricky Davis trade, when my interest in the Celtics was sort of renewed.

Same here. I joined that site around the time Gerald Green was drafted, along with Ryan Gomes and OO.  The salad days...Ruled by Mike D from NP and Sudden Sam....

I'm another old Boston Globe chat room veteran with the guys Master Po mentioned.  I even had to take over the Moderation duties for some goodball named Ranter over at Fanhome.  I wonder whatever happened to the guy... ;D

not sure what year
i wanna say 2005-2007 was the year i started
ive been with these guys from the giddy up
then they moved here

this always been my spot

Me too.   I think I hooked on in one of the early Jeff/Hagrid iterations -- maybe 2006-ish?   CBlog is not only has been the only Celtics board I've posted on, it's the only blog I've ever looked at on any topic.   It's the truth -- I am not very internet or technology savvy (an understatement) and when I found Cblog I was so ecstatic to be able to read and 'talk' about the Celtics in the off-season.  I stumbled upon this board and it has held my attention ever since.  I do remember the CBlog days when Doc and Danny were abused here pretty regularly.

For those too young to remember life without the internet -- I recall back in the day Bob Ryan was writing Sunday 'Basketball Notes' for the Boston Globe -- we'd get NBA news once a week on Sunday, and during the off-season Ryan (and the NBA) would take a good long break from basketball -- months with nothing but yearning for the start of the season.

I was at the ESPN board years ago too, that guy was a riot. I wondered what happened to the regulars over on the Celtics board (Sapp, Seif, jk9898, etc.)

I started on Yahoo too.  It was pretty bad, all posts just stacked up in one pile.

I then moved over to a very small site called Green17 run at the time by Justin Poulin.  Other posters included Tenacious D, snidely and only about 30 other active posters. We really got to know each other pretty well.

I had always lurked on realGM but never signed up for an account.
