I had curry pegged as a 4th rounder, great talent but e injuries scare me.  First to second round talent though. And if he is going to be healthy for training camp that's a good way to start things off

I've got him pegged as early 3rd for the same reasons you mentioned.  Those ankles really worry me.

With Lebron, you don't need upside, I think a sure thing would have been the better move and there were some sure things still available.  But I could see how going with the "sure thing" approach around Lebron could be a little boring.

Curry is a sure thing.  He's had two healthy seasons, and one where he had an ankle injury that he kept coming back from too soon because the kid is ultra-competitive (kind of like several of the GMs in here).

Eric Gordon is an injury risk (20+ games missed in each of the last three years).  Andrew Bynum is an injury risk (one healthy season, ever.)  Curry just had one injury-marred season.

Sorry but Curry is far from a sure thing. What have you done for me lately?

Bynum played in 60 of 66 games this past season. Three he missed due to suspension.

Curry missed FORTY games with chronic ankle surgeries and unlike Gordon was unable to come back and play at the end of the season to show his health. No one knows how Curry will come back. He is a reach in the second. I mean he has had multiple sprains to the same ankle and it required surgery. When the same exact part of your body is always getting hurt then it becomes chronic.

Quote
It seems unfair to thrust the "chronic injury" label on Curry already, but with at least seven ankle sprains and surgery in a 16-month period, it's almost unfair not to.

The scariest part of Curry's injury history is its Groundhog Day nature. He's not a player who suffers this nagging injury, then that nagging injury. It's the same ankle, the same ugly twists and turns of said ankle, and the same result.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1113003-steph-curry-and-5-most-frequently-injured-players-in-the-nba/page/2

Now no one on here would say Bynum hasn't had his issues but again he basically completed the entire season last year with no issues. Before this past season he had no rehab. It was all working out. This will be the case this year. For Curry well he will be rehabbing all off-season.

Quote
His early recovery timeline should have him ready to go by 2012 training camp. That's huge because the Warriors are his team now following a trade deadline move that sent fellow starting guard Monta Ellis to the Milwaukee Bucks in a package that garnered center Andrew Bogut in return. One of the league's best pure shooters, Curry has star potential if he can ever stay on the court.

Being back by camp is good but rehab is not the same thing as training.

Lol you bet. Don't hate on this:

1)  I said I may not be around during the rounds.  Do not hold up the draft waiting for a trade to go through.  Pick players for your trade partner and resubmit the trade with players in place.

2)  If a pick was missed in the 1st two rounds, the commish will make a selection for them at the end of the round.

3)  Teams don't have to (and in most cases shouldn't) wait past their time to make a pick because someone else made a mistake.

What have you done for me lately?

Bynum played in 60 of 66 games this past season. Three he missed due to suspension.

In the four seasons preceding last year, Bynum missed an average of 31 games per season, and never missed fewer than 17.  The dude has historically been chronically injured.  Obviously, the "what have you done for me lately" card is the only one you can play, but it's more likely than not that Bynum will miss serious time next year.

And it's just evidence that somebody that's young that has a history of injury problems can come back and have a career best year

No, it's not more likely than not. If anything he showed this past season that he has strengthened the knee and found the proper brace to put his issues behind him. Sure anyone can have issues but at this point in time Bynum has showed more then Curry has that he will be entering next season at full strength.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Someone should do 'winners' and 'losers' through the first 2 rounds.
