Surprised so many think New York are the clear winner here and that Boston gave up too much.

At first glance, I would think that Boston won that trade.

Agreed. I don't like even thinking about rankings before the pressers are up. But I could leave the Knicks out of the playoffs at this point.

Westbrook + Ellis in the backcourt and just Haslem and Warrick at the 4?

Knicks not dealing nice lineup though

Westbrook
Ellis
Leonard
Haslem
gasol

Listening to offers on Ellis

Wow. Ton of talent but man is Gasol going to get frusterated when he gets phased out despite setting killer pics and making great bounce passes.

You've got your work cut out explaining to us how Monta and Russ are going to work together here...

I'm with Who

Glen Davis is better than Haslem at this point. Austin Rivers is basically Jodie Meeks with the ability to dribble. Monta is still Monta and won't win anything. And Perk/GRiffin is better than Marc.

Win for the blog's namesake.

I would rather have Haslem than Davis.

Have no idea what Rivers will be like, and I can't recall ever seeing Meeks on the floor. Push.

Monta, on the right team, is a legit scoring threat.

Perkins is falling apart at the seams, and Griffin is averaging a knee injury a year in his short career, yes? Gasol is mentioned in the same breath as Bynum for best C in the league.

Haslem is breaking down more than Perkins is. Monta is a scoring threat and nothing more. And is that the same breath that begins "After Dwight Howard and Al Horford..."

I think Boston needs to waive one of their guys and bring in a backup SG.

Meh...

Andrew Bynum played an entire post season in 2010 with the same injury Blake got.

If Blake comes back from his injury like he did the other more serious knee injury then I think he will be fine.

I hate the fit in the backcourt here. And Haslem is more effective as a backup big, I think, but maybe you don't have a suitable replacement starter at PF.

Definitely need another trade.

Yeah, you were sitting pretty before the trade. Why fix what's not broken? I'd say you guys just got bounced off the playoffs with this previous deal.

References?

For me, it's less about Davis's merits versus Haslem's or Rivers terrible summer league, than the Knicks final roster. Haslem/Warrick is possibly the worst PF rotation in the league. And pairing Westbrook in the backcourt with a ball dominating combo guard who loves the long two?

Also, let's not lose sight of the fact that Griffin averaged 20-11-3. Ranked 5th in the league in FG%, 4th in minutes played and 5th in Free Throws Attempted.

This very thread. I'm not going to look for it, but it's in here.

I wasn't going by fit. The resultant fit is atrocious for New York. But I thought they got more talent on their side of the deal.

Also, those stats for Griffin speak to my main concern: his durability, given the physical pounding he's subjected to on a nightly basis. I think the knee is a legit cause for worry.
