Was that trade rescinded? I thought it was only the Dallas-Houston one.

i think if Nick thought both of the trades he was getting were fair then we should not veto them as first i was was a little bit upset but hey its not my team and if he thought it was fair and he liked what he was getting let the two deals go through

Honestly, I'm fine with it.  Voiding the trade between nick and I was my idea.  It was causing people to not enjoy playing, and I don't want that for anybody.

In the past, there's been drama in these drafts.  We run this for folks to have fun, and the last thing I want is to cause hurt feelings.  I've been in fantasy leagues where vetoes were made for petty, vindictive reasons.  Here, I think the trade was voided legitimately for the good of the game.

After talking with Roy, we agreed that it would be better to veto both trades, rather than have people feel like something amiss was going on.

no we should not veto it, it will just end up making the draft more competitive and everyone will want to step up their game to get at your team's level

Here's an idea:

I'll trade Jrue Holiday, Tiago Splitter, and Nikola Vucevic for Gortat and Lin.

I'm offering a more traditional point guard prospect with a higher ceiling (Holiday) (and some would argue better right now, though I wouldn't necessarily), a very promising PF/C who is just entering his prime with playoff experience (Splitter), and a promising center prospect who will likely take a big step forward next year both in playing time and likely development (Vucevic).

If you think its so ridiculously unfair, or uneven, make another offer to Nick that is better.

But that's the trade offer I'm making.

The italicized part was my biggest issue with the offer. I honestly don't see much special about Vucevic. I do believe that Holiday and Splitter can develop into starting-caliber players in the NBA.

Gortat was billed by nick as a legit 15/10/1.5 center, so I thought he would push for more in return, especially with Lin thrown in.

All that said, I didn't think the trade was egregiously lopsided, or necessarily veto-worthy.

Crap - I had already updated my rosters and rankings. Oh well.

Change them back now so they are accurate.

Yeah i don't think it needs to be vetoed, i just dont understand why Nick is in such a rush to ship off two very valuable commodities like that.  I mean we still have a few days to finalize things.

Ontop of that, with Nicks GMing skills, i feel like he's only a few shrewd moves away from at building a solid playoff squad, i dunno, i just don't get it, but to each their own...

Whoa whoa whoa. How are Holiday and Splitter not already starting caliber players in teh NBA?

I don't think he set himself apart as a truly special player or anything, but he played strongly for a rookie, has the size, and Philly was comfortable letting go of Elton Brand, helping make room for him.

Lets undo the veto on the both of the trades

I have no prob with the vetoes for the good of the game its just it places me in a position to receive certain perceived value back for those players in trades which is going to be difficult.

Vucevic is third behind Hawes and Brown. He isn't ready.

Holiday can start. Splitter? No.

Holiday is already. Splitter isn't quite there yet, I don't think. He's certainly rotation-worthy.

I disagree about Splitter. We can get into that later.

I agree Vucevic isn't there yet, but he still played 16 minutes a night for the best defense statistically in basketball last season, and played it often next to smaller defenders like Thad Young or LaVoy Allen.

Not that he's the next coming of Andrew Bogut or anything, just that he's a 7 foot rookie who is 21 years old and has already played some meaningful minutes on a playoff team. With Brand gone next season, I wouldn't be surprised if he managed 25 minutes or so a night.
