Heat is well hated around the league , other than  10year olds infatuateed with LeBrick .   Cheat needs to be you LAST STOP in your career,  Camby made good sence.  Ray is is PIG ., and belongs with D WADE , HASLEM , Riley and his flying circus of thugs and divas

You ain't lying that's for sure. Despite how some in the media gloat over the Heat, they're not respected by other teams around the league or fans. If u or anyone watch this year's draft; when David Stern stepped to the podium to announce the Heat's draft pick, the entire build booed so loud. Chris Broussard look like he lost his girlfriend. lol

Camby who had played a few years for the knicks, grew up in Connecticut (ie knick fan), couldn't imagine turning up in a heat uniform at MSG. Said he would boo himself if he did that.

The disrespect that allen have shown the c's (leaking anti-rondo stories etc) needs a reply, they should hand one of the rookies #20.

They should give either Courtney Lee or OJ Mayo number 20.

Ah, you tried to trade me, I wasn't traded, whatever. The fact of the matter is it's a business, a lot of players get dangled in trades.

Bottom line, the Celtics showed Ray respect in three significant ways as far as I can see:

1. They paid him a good market value over five years to the tune of roughly $70 to $80 Million over - not a bad paycheck.

2. They did everything they could to surround him and everyone else on the team with players to put them in a legit position to win rings.

3. When the rubber hit the road, they offered Ray more then double what anyone else was offering in compensation - that is respect.

Ray chose to take half of what we offered to go play with one of the most hated teams in the league who also happens to be our #1 nemesis the last 3-4 years in the east.

I can understand him being miffed with management and wanting to maybe "stick it to them" a little. But what about your teammates, the guys you've been in a fox hole with for five years?

I respect his decision but find it hard to understand.

In the end while I wouldn't boo Ray when he returns to the Boston, it would be by biting my tongue...

To me, I'm sure Ray Allen his PR team thought of the fans backlash - hence, his message in the Boston Globe.

Fixed that for you.

Sorry, but that ad is Crisis Management PR 101.

Yeah it's one thing to do it when the TEAM got rid of you (a la Nate McMillan) but doing it when YOU leave the team should probably be standard operating procedure (especially with circumstances like this e.g. rivalry, rejected side offered more money etc.)

For what it's worth, let's call a spade a spade, here.

For all of us throwing Ray Allen (and his legacy) under the bus, let's not forget that our own white horse, our own "savior", our own Mr. Intensity......

...Wouldn't have even come to BOS if not for the man that many of us hate right now.

He even considered - The Lakers.

Think about that for a minute.

He just didn't think that BOS had enough in an unknown quantity of Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo to even sniff BOS.

And I love the guy to this day.

But we have to look at fault in ALL players.

It took Danny trading away our 5th pick in 07-08 (Jeff Green), and Delonte West in order for us to acquire Ray Allen. It was after THAT that KG thought we may have enough.

Ray Allen.

The man some of us hate right now.

The man who got a reluctant KG to come here.

The man who played with bone spurs in his ankles throughout the playoffs.

The man who, even as a child, LOVED BOS:

Strangely enough, Young Ray Allen was even MORE of a Celtics Fan than even our OWN Captain - who admittedly LOVED the Lakers as a young man.

Food for thought.

OK.  I thought about it.  Nothing happened.

Would you be kind enough to express the point you're trying to make in words, rather than having us arrive at it through our own ruminations?

Neither did we.  Do you remember, there were polls in the Globe and elsewhere, asking Boston fans if we should trade Big Al and Gerald Green and more for Kevin Garnett?  We pretty clearly said "no".  In fairness, some of the rumors had Delonte West, or the #5 pick, or even Rondo going to Minnesota.  But even as constructed, a lot of us didn't think the trade made sense.  I know I didn't.

KG was right.  There was no point in coming to Boston to team up with Pierce, Rondo, Delonte West, and Yi Jianlian (the guy we were rumored to take if we kept #5.)

Again, I really don't know what you're getting at, but I'd like to.

 ???

Just tell us what you make of this apparently random collection of facts.  I'd really like to know what you're getting at.

Well, if that is what Camby said, then I'd think that he made the decision that was best for him.

For Ray Allen's situation, Camby's words could be understood as - "What would my family think of me if I chose to stay in BOS and be dangled for a THIRD year in a row at the trade deadline?

To me, I'm sure Ray Allen thought of the fans - hence, his message in the Boston Globe.

But - as the popular saying goes - "To Each His Own."

Camby made his decision for himself.

Ray Allen made his decision for himself.

as if ray has been the only one dangled in trades. you dont see rondo and pierce whining about that.
They're not free agents. Wait until Rondo is again before you say that.

And you know what, Howard Avellino?

At 3:00 in the morning, I could probably say that even I didn't know what I was getting at, to be honest.

Looking at THIS post of mine, now? It does in fact look random and disorganized.

I get like that at times. I think most people do.

Don't you?

But to me it is just as random as some of the comments here against Ray Allen over the last few days.

Personally, I thought his reasoning was a load of crap.

Not going to a team because of a rivalry (Heat vs Knicks) that existed for around 5 years (Riley vs JVG years) and died 10 years ago ... is stupid.

Holds more merit when he was a knick during some of those years or no? They were also eliminated by the heat this season and ...Either way it just sounds nice to after hes signed with the knicks
