Fab Melo is gonna be Serge Ibaka 2.0, book it!
By xmas, he'll be a 20mpg & nearly 2 blocks a game late-first-steal.

How about some boards with those blocks!

1.  We all knew he was a project; and

2.  He showed some flashes; but

3.  Summer league means nothing; but still

4.  I wish we had drafted Perry Jones.
this.

PJIII looked like a player out there today.  Melo looked pretty raw.  I don't think the pick was wasted but any expectations of him contributing in the next couple of years are asking a bit much.

Melo seemed like a defensive leader out there...he is really not shy at all. I love that.

If his alley oop wasnt knocked away, Im sure everyone would be calling him a beast right now.

Think Garnett will love it too? ;)

Format always lends itself to wings and guards in SL. Big guys always look out of place.

Fab has all the tools. PJ3 is the same player he always has been, talented but soft, wants to be a 3. We need SIZE and Im even more impressed with Melo now..

Knowing your roll is vital to success. The 3 rookies know their rolls without a doubt. The jury is still out on last years' rookies, Im rooting for JJJ.

let's wait and see onmelo.  just for comparison here are perk's stats for his first three years. i posted these before, but they are interesting when we evaluate melo.

kendrik perkins
2003-04
games    minutes   points  rebounds
10          3:30          2.2       1.4

2004-05
60           9:05         2.5        2.9

2005-06
68           19:36       5.2        5.9

basically, perk was nobody until year 3, when he was merely mediocre. i think melo may turn out to be better....IF he can learn team defense. i have doubts about him, but am willing to wait and see.

Perk was drafted right out of high school. Melo played two years of college ball.

So, the best comparison is Melo's first year and Perkins' third as a pro.

2 years of college experience does not equate to 2 years NBA experience bro.

Apparently many people forget what Perkins looked like the first time we saw him play.  Be patient with Fab Melo and we can get a serviceable player, which is difficult to obtain in the big man department.

It kind of does with Perk...Who was playing with a bunch of rookies and NBDL caliber players on a tanking team.

How many centers have dominated summer league?

It's a guard's league.  That Melo is directing traffic and defending hard is all that matters in a league that showcases smaller players.

Probably Perk's second year, considering Melo's relatively new to the game and a year of summer league, training camp and training with the team is easily worth two years of college ball.

There are 3 times as many NBA games as there are NCAA games per season. That is not a fair comparison.

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
On the bright side, if we are certain Melo is going to be a bust, we are also certain Sullinger is going to be an all-star.

PJ III is so over rated.  Seriously the guy had ONE nice stretch where he made a series of jumpers and was physical.  He disappeared for the rest of the game.  He scored 16 points in 17 shots?  He's exactly the same player he's been his whole life.  That's why 27 teams passed on him.
rofl bruh u trippin he's gonna be WAY betta then a majority of players picked ahead of him he's a lor inconsistent but he has da skill to average double figures in da league
