Fab Melo is gonna be Serge Ibaka 2.0, book it! By xmas, he'll be a 20mpg & nearly 2 blocks a game late-first-steal.
1. We all knew he was a project; and2. He showed some flashes; but3. Summer league means nothing; but still4. I wish we had drafted Perry Jones.
Melo seemed like a defensive leader out there...he is really not shy at all. I love that.

let's wait and see onmelo. just for comparison here are perk's stats for his first three years. i posted these before, but they are interesting when we evaluate melo.kendrik perkins 2003-04 games minutes points rebounds10 3:30 2.2 1.42004-0560 9:05 2.5 2.92005-0668 19:36 5.2 5.9basically, perk was nobody until year 3, when he was merely mediocre. i think melo may turn out to be better....IF he can learn team defense. i have doubts about him, but am willing to wait and see.

Melo played two years of college ball. So, the best comparison is Melo's first year and Perkins' third as a pro.

PJ III is so over rated. Seriously the guy had ONE nice stretch where he made a series of jumpers and was physical. He disappeared for the rest of the game. He scored 16 points in 17 shots? He's exactly the same player he's been his whole life. That's why 27 teams passed on him.
