Well, for one, he is now an unrestricted free agent, which completely changes the market.  But I don't buy this rumor one bit.

i don't think those numbers are correct...but i was encouraged that green wanted to be in boston and they are working on the deal

A question to help clarify capology.  If Bass gets 3/$20M, can you start the first year at a lower value (and cap hit) and then increase by 20% each year?  If this is true, Bass could get the following:

$5,494,505
$6,593,407
$7,912,088

If the same math is applied to say a 4 year/$30M for Green, he would get $5,588,674 in the first year.  This is the only way we could sign Bass, Allen, and Green at the numbers discussed and still be under the luxury cap.

Is this actually how it could work?

No it's not. He signed a one-year, 9 million contract before the injury. Now he's worth 10 million per year?  ??? Just downright outlandish and ridiculous.

No these numbers are not correct.  Jeff Green did get a $9M 1-year deal last year so that is his potential as an NBA player but there is no way he is getting a raise after not having played a full season due to major surgery.

I think he ends up a $8M per max.  That is the max I would go at least.  I think very highly of Jeff Green too, and I was stoked that we got him for Perkins.  But once he is getting $10M per to be Pierce's backup for 2 years, you are flushing cash down the toilet.

This is all speculation anyways.  So it is not true.
