i don't think those numbers are correct...but i was encouraged that green wanted to be in boston and they are working on the deal
No these numbers are not correct. Jeff Green did get a $9M 1-year deal last year so that is his potential as an NBA player but there is no way he is getting a raise after not having played a full season due to major surgery.
I think he ends up a $8M per max. That is the max I would go at least. I think very highly of Jeff Green too, and I was stoked that we got him for Perkins. But once he is getting $10M per to be Pierce's backup for 2 years, you are flushing cash down the toilet.
This is all speculation anyways. So it is not true.
I wish Perk and Nate was back. Instead of this greedy ass fool.
What makes you think he is being greedy? If other teams are offering him multiple years at $9M per, which is what he was signed to before his surgery, why is he being greedy holding out for more if Boston will offer it because they want him?
Isn't it Boston, by definition, who would be greedy in that situation?
We have no idea what is going on right now. I personally don't believe for one second Green is signing for more that he did last year. He doesn't deserve it. I don't think Billy King would give him $10M per. The fact that he had major cardiovascular surgery simply prevents that kind of a deal. It has to.
And yes I have said on this board that I think JG will be 100% and better than ever. But I am not writing checks. If I was, I would look Falk in the face and tell him he is getting no more than $8M per. That is it. If he can get more than that elsewhere than good luck.
