for 2 late first rounders and 2 late second rounders, aka probably nothing at all.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Well it was a sign + trade. If Nash didn't want to go, or wanted to go somewhere else, or was willing to take a discount and sign a MLE contract, he couldve even left for nothin.

I think Phoenix did well here.

How do our Celtics match up with this new look Lakers? I feel like their frontcourt would destroy us atm. We do have an advantage at the SF, and the backcourt though, imo.

  • GOT IT!!!
Phoenix got what they could. Nash held all the cards in the situation.

They can always get what they want. This is disgusting.

Celtics can wait 20 years, Nicks can wait, Bulls can wait but the Golden Boy!... No they can't wait. They can always get best player. They can always find a way.

29 stupid teams, 1 golden boy...

Worry not.  Kobe will play his usual hero ball because he thinks he's the greatest player ever to put on a basketball jersey, go 11-29, 9-28 (you get the idea) to score 30 points , and take everyone else out of rhythm in doing so.  I see the Lakers losing in the WCF, and then Kobe blaming his teammates afterwards as he usually does.

Their chances of winning did improve, but Nash will get torched even worse than Sessions did by the Westbrooks and Parkers of the Western conference.

Interesting news...  Lakers get Nash. What's next? Howard to LA or Brooklyn? Celts need to hurry and get in on all this wheeling and dealing. Hopefully, in the next few days I will see a headline saying C's trade for Josh Smith, and in separate deal do a S&T for Nick Young.

Ray Allen would be a great fit there with Kobe shifting to small forward. Dump Artest's butt onto the bench. Improve LA's jump-shooting and floor spacing. Get their bigs more room to operate and Nash more room to create with.

I can't imagine Ray signing with the Lakers though. Still, if I were LA, that is something I'd strongly pursue just in case they can talk him round.

Depends on what kind of contributions we get from Sully and Melo ATM. If we can get something from them, we're a big talented team, if not forget it..

bummer.  I really like Steve Nash.  Ouch.  That offense, on paper... is ridiculous.  One of the best scorers in the league... one of the best point guards in this league (still)... two of the top 5 big men in the game.  Ouch.

I would have totally preferred seeing him go back to Dallas, go to Toronto, go to the Knicks... whatever.

His addition to the Lakers could make them a serious threat to win a title (and tie our record).  Not happy about it.  I felt with better coaching they could have been a threat to win it this year even without Nash.  Having two 7 foot stars is a huge advantage.  Mike Brown is a hack.

1 of the best PGs in the league -- maybe, depending on the cut-off for 'best' because he is not better than CP, DW, RW, RR, or DR.  He's in the mix at the next tier though.   He'll be 39 in February.

They won't be deep and starters will have to play serious minutes, but I agree that the dang 2 7-footers are a force.

Only good I can see is Rondo will have his way with Nash, as will many PGs.

However they certainly got way better.

My question is how will Kobe take to playing with a ball dominating PG.  It was my same thought when they were going to aquire Chris Paul.

Mike Brown is a hack.

This is also comforting.  He could never run an offense to save his life.  But if he's not smart enough to just put Steve Nash in pick n roll and let him work someone needs to hit him in the head with a tack hammer.

If the Lakers turn around and get Howard, I am DONE with the NBA!
