PG: Steve Nash
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF:
PF: Pau Gasol
C:  Andrew Bynum

That is one heck of a four-man core.
Everyone of those guys are foaming at the mouth right now, and Kobe's probably smiling ear to ear with those ugly crooked teeth of his

Nash is trying to convince Grant Hill to be the 5th guy in that lineup.  This team is old, but really scary.

Call me crazy, but I'd love to see a good old-fashioned Celtics vs. Lakers final again.

Then again, maybe not.
Meta is gone?

Wait, am I the only one that realizes Meta is pretty awful?

Next to those guys he would be fine. Still a good defender if nothing else.

They still have their mini MLE. I truly hope they don't try a last minute play for Allen.

So they use a trade exception and get to keep Sessions and Jordan Hill? Wow, they lakers are back in legit contention. If they land Howard the heat "dynasty" is over. I hate the lakers, but may be content in them winning if it shuts down lebron and co. for good.

Dwight Howard has to cop on and give up on this silly Brooklyn thing.

Look at that team. Go to LAL.

Ummm...but can someone pls explain to me how they get by OKC or San Antonio, now?

Nash in his prime was perhaps an average defender....

Great move for him, though...nothing like being close to family. And out of all the teams vying for his services, he picked one that could get him closest to his ring.

But "closest", to me, means perhaps winning 2 games out of a 7 game series with OKC.

And boy if Perry Jones III pans out for OKC....

Not trying to be a party pooper for LA fans, but I just don't see them beating either OKC or San Antonio - especially OKC.

Steve Nash helps slow down Westbrook, Harden and Durant....how much?

Steve Nash keeps Perk from pushing Bynum out of his sweet spots...how much?

Steve Nash keeps Serge from doing his rim-protecting duties...how much?

And finally - did Kobe sign a promisary note to Steve that he won't EVER AGAIN play Hero Ball?

Screw that. Lakers will always be enemy #1.

Does anybody care? I don't..........I still don't think this move will get the lakers past OKC and even if it does great..........Id love a celtics vs lakers rematch. Ill never get tired of seeing those two teams in the finals facing one another.

His defense was slipping already.  And as Who noted, you don't want a ball stopper like him on the team that has Nash, Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum (or Dwight).  And he doesn't stretch the floor for their post play, their pick and rolls, or their penetration.  He might be the worst possible fit.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
It's too bad Battier is in Miami. He'd fit that starting lineup like a glove.

They'll get Grant Hill.  I don't think Ray would want to play with Kobe.

Bynum for Howard just makes so much sense right now. If it doesn't get done, call me flat out befuddled.

And I don't think there is a team out there that will be able to stop them as long as Kobe and Nash stay healthy.

Dwight Howard's pride is the only thing I see holding the Lakers back from 2-3 chips aside from Father time.
Bynum + what/whom?

You're probably right, but in a halfcourt set how exactly do you stop Kobe, Allen, Nash, Bynum, and Gasol? You can't double off anybody.

Well the Lakers as is lost one of those games by two and another by three.  Do Nash and maybe Dwight get them an extra two points in Game 2 and an extra 3 points in Game 4?  The Lakers weren't as far away last year as you think.

And they still have the taxpayers midlevel with cheap vets likely now begging to play for them.

If they can't get Dwight Howard, I'd be tempted to trade Andrew Bynum for Marc Gasol + pieces.

Bring in a center who can better facilitate their offense and go high-low with Pau Gasol. Give Nash more room to work with in the pick and roll with his jump-shooting. Get more ball and player movement in the halfcourt offense.
