I think this means that Ray is gone; Ray has said time and time again he's looking at playing time, and he wont get PT behind Bradley, Rondo, and JET. But JET is an upgrade over Ray I believe. I just want to see how much he's getting paid for this..

Would be a great move, no doubt. Terry could fit right into Ray's role. Also adds some more experience and grit to what is rapidly becoming a younger roster.

Ah, you beat me to posting this, haha. This is GREAT news!!! Now we just need to lock up Jeff Green and sign a center. Chris Kaman, anyone?

No chance for Kaman.  Terry is getting the MLE, so unless Kaman wants only the biennial, he won't be here.

Our options for center are the guys we've already got, Krstic, and centers worth the biennial or vet min (Wilcox, for example.)

Well, I always thought Terry would be the best possible replacement for Ray, should he bolt.

I'm skeptical there are enough minutes on the roster for both of them, though.

I think there's plenty, as Ray can play SF too and Terry can play the point.

With Rondo taking 35+ minutes at the point, I can't see the value in having in having 3 undersized two guards in Ray, Terry and Avery.

Ray's out job hunting in Florida and California.  Meanwhile, the Celtics are trying to finalize a deal with Jason Terry.

Somebody tell me they think both those guys will be Boston Celtics next year?  I don't think so.

I hope this is true!

I bet this makes it easier for Ray to start as avery and jet can be a great combo duo,

also, Dallas is probably trying to free his cap hold as he earned 11 mil last year.  They may have encouraged him to sign elsewhere so they can go for Howard? ::)

finally some bench firepower!

LOVE IT! The only way to improve our bench scoring was to add a player like this.. only 1 year removed from 6th man of year

I was thinking the same thing if we really want Ray and there's a chance he stays with us we have to offer him the starting job. Then you have Terry backup Rondo and Bradley back up Ray that would be pretty [dang] solid.

Nor I, wonder what the difference in pay is?  Assuming Terry will be less expensive that could help the salary cap.

Yes please.

Jet Life.

Also with people concerned about having Ray and Terry, thing is Terry can play back up PG.  It's not ideal but we have enough ball handling and passing to make that work.  He can handle and pass pretty well.

I still don't think we can rule out an Allen sign and trade, though. We can pay him more than anyone else.
