As @SpearsNBAYahoo reports, Celtics finalizing deal with Jason Terry. Boston is still determined to keep Ray Allen too, sources say.

Is the feeling mutual, is the question? I have my doubts.

Jason Terry would be a major addition.

Agreed, I think this puts us legit in title discussion

Not to be a debbie downer, but if this goes the way of David West I don't think my heart could take it.

West didn't happen because we needed to work out a sign-and-trade, and we couldn't find anyone to take JO's contract (shocker.)  Terry fits in with the MLE, so we don't have to rely on anyone but our front office to close the deal.  EDIT: Which posters below have indicated is a problem.

Stein reporting he's going back to Dallas to see if they will match.  So let's not David West ourselves here and get too excited.

Marc Stein

"But source stresses that Terry will go back to Mavs to give them chance to counter before finalizing three-year deal, believed to be at MLE"

I love that he can fill it up instant offense what we've been sorely lacking off the bench and he also likes to run run run

With Rondo taking 35+ minutes at the point, I can't see the value in having in having 3 undersized two guards in Ray, Terry and Avery.

Mike

Hypothetically, think it could work, at least in the regular season.

Rondo (35) / Terry (13)
Bradley (25) / Terry (12) / Allen (11)
Pierce (30) / Allen (9) / "Pietrus" (9)

Rondo (35), Pierce (30), Bradley (25), Terry (25), Allen (20), Backup 3 (9).

You could cut into Pierce's minutes or the backup 3's minutes to get Allen more playing time.

If Ray reads this post he's definitely not coming back.  Fourth guard behind Bradley and Terry on the depth chart?
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

This could just be his way of spinning it so it doesnt look like he got beat to the punch by Marc Spears.  Remember spears has Boston connections.

He's said in the past that he'd prefer to stay with the Mavs, I don't think this is spin.

If DWill stays in NJ, expect DAL to match.
