Out: Bass, Hollins, (maybe?) Jajuan
In: Anthony Randolph (and the wing players we so desperately need from the Bass/Jajuan trades)
Like some of you've said, Randolph is NBA ready. Given enough minutes, he could very well bring plenty of positives. I think the money will be well spent signing him.
KG, Anthony Randolph, Sully, Fab Melo, Stiemsma, Sean Williams
Come playoff time, I think:
KG, Anthony Randolph, Stiemsma, Sean Williams and maybe Sully
Positives:
-Get the bad taste of skipping on PJ3 out of my (and some others here's) mouth. (though I do get the Fab Melo pick and am warming up to it. Wish we had more picks this draft).
-6 hard fouls on LeBron? Try flagrant fouls, nailing him in the groin. Maybe even hack a ref? (kidding. Kind of.)
-Plenty of insurance, all of whom have played with the team instead of being
-Doc must play rookies (unless he makes Pierce a full time PF...oh god)
-Plenty of potential
-Anthony Randolph is a steal, likely KG replacement
-Fab Melo, Sully, Sean Williams can develop at his own pace (they have considerable upside)
Negatives:
-Doc might not play any of them and opt to play small ball all season long or even 4 player lineups (I'm half serious...but there is a chance. I'm a bit scared honestly).
-Might be a bit deflating for some of them (unlikely though. Sully, Fab Melo and Sean Williams can't really complain if they aren't getting minutes. They aren't finished products at all.)
-KG cannot develop all of them at the same time (but I don't think that's a huge deal. You don't need hours and hours to learn something valuable from a great like this.)
Verdict: SIGN HIM. I'd overpay a little even.
