always liked randolph.  He's only 22... but man... he really hasn't found a groove anywhere.

I'd role the dice on Beasley as a SF off the bench for this team. Doc and the vets should be a great influence on him.

Randolph has been a bust of pretty sizeable proportions. Beasley's talent is intriguing, but I'm worried about character issues and the ability to be effective off the bench in limited minutes. But yes, if we strike out on Green, he's a decent consolation prize.

All depends on the price, but I prefer Beasley as a PF. I think he's a tad redundant, though, depending on what we do, but it'd be nice to have him.

I'd role the dice on either of those guys for the right money.  But I'd also role the dice on OJ Mayo or Greg Oden.  I guess I'm a sucker at heart... basically you can sign any former "highly touted" player and I'll cling to the chance of them finally "figuring it out" in Boston.

Randolph or Beasley would be great signings if we could get one of them cheap, I think they both could salvage their careers under Doc Rivers and the veteran Celtics team.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
There are much better options than these guys.

Plus, Beasley and Fab would not be a gruesome twosome I'd like on this team. Fab needs focus, and they'd undoubtedly be friends. Beasley isn't needed here at all.

Pass.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Honestly what is up with Randolph?  There were times in Golden State where he looked like one of the most exciting prospects in the league, but apparently maturity and confidence really were lacking.

Then he goes to NY for 17 games and they barely even look at him.

He had exactly ONE game for the Knicks where he got minutes (28) and put up 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals... but that's it.  Back to getting DNP..

Then he goes to the Wolves where obviously is backing up Kevin Love... Derrick Williams is a #2 pick so they obviously have to give him minutes when possible... Beasley is there... Darko and Pekovic are there.  I mean... maybe you say he just couldn't get an opportunity, because the Wolves just had too many other assets cooking?  I don't know...

Maybe he just stinks?

But again... in the rare instances when he found himself getting minutes he seemed to be capable.

29 minutes on 1/10 against Chicago and he dropped 18 points, a block and a steal.

Randomly got 31 minutes on 4/11 and he got 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks...  followed it up with a 27 minute 16 point, 9 rebound, 2 blocks, 2 assist performance and a 34 minute 22 point, 11 rebound, 1 block performance.

I mean... it wouldn't take much for me to hop on the "this kid still has potential" bandwagon.  22 years old..  6'11... 225... I say go after him if you can get him cheap.  I'd love for KG to give him some mentorship.

I hear what folks are saying on Randolph, and am also intrigued. Beasley as well.

At this point, I think Cs own FAs are better options than either of these two, but I guess the point is that there are more options out there that might serve as consolation prizes....

Celtics fan for life.

Randolph's per-minute averages are actually pretty solid.  Even last year... 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1 block 47% shooting in only 15 minutes a game is certainly not "terrible".  And again, he's playing the same position (PF) as Kevin Love (statistically the best in the league) and Derrick Williams (the #2 pick) so it makes sense why he couldn't get much opportunity.

What's the deal with him?  What's the main knock on his game? He's 22 years old.  Look... I'm not putting money on it... but I'm totally not going to be shocked if this kid has a Jermaine O'Neal type of career... buried behind talent early in his career... goes elsewhere and finally lives up to his potential.  JO was 22 when he finally arrived in Indiana after playing on deep Portland benches.  Heh... they are even built the same way.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I've always like Beas' talent, I def think Brooklyn will be after him. A core of:

PG: D.Will
SG: Brooks?
SF: G.Wallace
PF: M.Beasley
C: B.Lopez

Could score in bunches. If they can get an offer together for D12, that's a team with a lot of potential.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman
