Jae Crowder. I'm a big believer in actual college production, versus combine measurements and projected ceiling.

For players expected to be drafted in the 15-22 range

1)Meyers Leonard- He is going to be a Marcin Gortat type 15/10 big

2) Royce White - I think he is going to be really good, warning signs be [dang]e. He needs to go to a team with great leaders and would fit in perfectly in green. He could  easily run the 2nd unit offense. He put up 13/9/5 in his 1 season at Iowa and more than held his own against Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones in 2 games this season

3) Andrew Nicholson- Not super athletic, but has very good length, great footwork and can score inside and outside . He would fit in perfectly next to KG and give us a legit low post offensive threat who can also spread the floor hitting shots from anywhere .

4)Moe Harkless - Super athletic, he kind of reminds me of Josh Smith, but I think is real position will be SF in the NBA . I think he's still raw , but would make a good running mate for Rondo and can defend and rebound

5)Quincy Miller or Jeff Taylor -

Miller seems to have a pretty good offensive skill set , but is very skinny and coming back from knee surgery 1 year ago. If he full recovers and gets his athleticism back he could be a huge steal.

Jeff Taylor is a very good defender at the SF spot, can also run the floor with Rondo

I like White but to me he's either going to be a boom or bust type player nothing in between.  BTW he played at Iowa State not Iowa.  Leonard and another player who can shoot an dplay the 2/3 would be my choice, but I don't think Leonard will be around for us...

But I don't care where he's projected, when he'll likely out produce half of the players taken in the late first. Elite offensive efficiency and defense.

Where's I'll be furious if we take Meyers Leonard.

Who, among the top 30, would I AVOID at our slot?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rivers
Marshall
Harkless
Wroten
Teague
Melo
MIller

Those guys were not elite producers in college. I wouldn't be excited to see any of them playing for us. If we end up with anyone else from Ford's top 20 besides these guys, I'll be ecstatic. I think the odds are great.

How is Moe Harkless not an elite producer in college?  He was the Big East Rookie of the Year and averaged 15.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 blocks, 1.6 steals as a freshman.  He played out of position, and I've heard his shooting is improved from the season(45% but 20% from 3 was obviously poor).  I'd love to hear how you do not think Moe was an elite performer as a freshman.  Thanks.

I agree ross and waiters will be gone but I think moultrie has a better chance sliding than leanard

I can't remember the last time a guy that big with proven rebounding skill fell into the 20s.

Carlos Boozer?

I don't want Moultrie. I'd rather trade back with some team that might want to take him.

Lazy, soft, dumb, and not a winner.

Like PJ3, Moultrie doesn't like contact, and his defense is really soft. Almost no blocks at that size.

That's why he might drop so far.

Wow pretty harsh words man lol I'm sold on moultrie, I think he'll be a nice talent. Just because he's finesse doesn't mean he's a wimp and dumb? What makes u say all this? (not trying to argue just curious why u think that stuff)
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Yeah, that was too harsh of me. Some SEC fans on the nbadraft.net forum called him dumb and said he had zero defense, but that was harsh of me to repeat without really knowing what I was talking about. But here's some possible evidence of some of the flaws I probably over-exaggerated earlier. In addition, he called out his MSU team pretty bad during a 5 game losing streak. Upon further examination of the incident, it seems like the MSU fanbase agreed with his sentiments. There are rumors of attitude at MSU and UTEP before that, transferring sometimes being a sign of trouble. His UTEP coach wouldn't even say his name in an interview about him, but Moultrie had good words for his former coach, and it appears their dispute was about Moultrie declaring for the draft way too early a few years ago.

So in conclusion, there's some smoke, but no fire that I know of. I was enamored with Moultrie's post skills earlier in the season, but after watching Nicholson play, it's no contest skills-wise. Nicholson's only been playing 6 years, but that doesn't mean Moultrie's lack of mastery is a result of laziness:

"soft"

Quote
When he first looks to get position, he does a good job sealing off the defender, though he could use his lower body a bit more to create some space. However, once the defender starts getting physical, he gives up the spot too quickly. He needs to make sure
he fights for that space.

Quote
He also does a very good job keeping
balls alive that he know he may not be able to get to right away. However, assuming he does get stronger, he still needs to work on using his body to box out and create space, instead of
just going after the ball.

"dumb" (too harsh a term, agreed)
Quote
Another area of concern is his lack of court awareness on the defensive end. He needs to get much better at seeing
everything around him, including cutters and screens, and be able to guide his teammates. Moultrie’s lack of defensive awareness also affects his ability to be a good help defender around
the basket. He seems to always get to the help spot, but a step or two late.

Quote
The large majority of the impact he has on a game is due to his
length and athleticism, not his skill. At the college level, that may work. It won’t happen in the NBA. He really needs to become much more skilled in many areas – shooting, post offense
and defense, court awareness – to have any kind of real impact at the NBA level. He may certainly get there someday, but it’s not going to happen soon. He would best develop somewhere where he can be a solid 7th or 8th man for a year or two, and work on bringing his skill levels up.

There goes Dion Waiters, probably a promise from a lottery team:

Syracuse guard Dion Waiters canceled all team workouts and interviews at NBA pre-draft camp, source tells Y! Sports.

Someone very good is going to slip to us. If Waiters goes lottery then maybe a guy like Lamb or Ross slips to us.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

5.Fab Melo

Moultrie, Leonard, Terrence Jones/Ross would be great, but they'll be picked before 21st.

Maybe Melo/Miller will be gone too... but one can wish.

You might be able to talk me into it. My mental picture of Harkless is that he was turnover-prone and a high-volume, low-efficiency scorer. I'm looking at basketball reference right now and the numbers aren't as bad as I thought. His rebounding numbers from the guard position are extremely cool.

Carlos Boozer?

Again, forwards and centers who are short drop all the time (this is a good thing. It's the reason why we could be in a position to draft Andrew Nicholson). Carlos Boozer is less than 6'8" without shoes on, about the same size as Jared Sullinger. If Jared Sullinger had Arnett Moultrie's measurements, he could be top pick in the draft. Arnett Moultrie is 6'10" without shoes. He fits the prototype.
