Guys,
Chris Paul with 23 pts, 11 assts and 5 boards.
VC 27 ppg, 4 assts and 5 boards,
Jamal Mashburn, 19 ppg, 5 assts and 5 boards,
Dirk, 26 ppg, 3 assts, 9 boards
Marc Gasol 14 ppg, 3 assts, 9 boards
SO MUCH TEAMWORK!
Not really sure how that compares to this
Derrick Rose 25/7.7/4.1 PER 23.5 with improved numbers in 16 post season games and the league MVP
Paul Pierce 26.1/3.2/6.9 PER 22.3 with improved rebounding and passing in 16 post season games
Joe Johnson 17.1/3.5/5.1 PER 15.1, with 47% from three and improved numbers (including 55.6% from three) in 9 post season games
Karl Malone 27.4/4.5/9.9 PER 28.9 with comparable numbers in 20 post season games and the league MVP
Andrew Bynum 18.7/1.4/11.8 PER 22.9 with comparable numbers in 12 post season games
I'd take CP3 over Rose any day of the week on thirteen extra times on Sunday.
At the points we've chosen them, Vince was a far better player than Pierce.
I like the Mash versus JJ match-up for both teams, although in the team context I like that I took mash towards the end of his career where he's more experienced.
I'm going to say this, but Dirk is better than the Mailman. Comprable all time scoring numbers without playing with John Stockton for his entire career as well as being an MVp and a champion.
I actually wonder if Gasol wouldn't have been a better fit on-court for your team and Bynum would have been a better one for mine.
I would also take CP3 over Rose and IMO Rose's MVP was a bit of a joke.
I would say at that point in there careers VC and PP were very similar players. I don't think the edge one way or another is discernable
Dirk and Mailman is an interesting matchup, not sure where the edge goes there to be honest. Both are fantastic players.
Bynum has the rings but Gasol has the personality and team first attitude. Numbers are about equal. Probably going to lean Bynum cause of the rings.
Actually I think the Gap between Bynum and Gasol is pretty large. If Bynum were healthy in 07-08 there is a good chance he would have 3 rings at this point.
And if M. Gasol had been on those Lakers teams, he'd have three rings.
Maybe, but he wasnt and Bynum does have 2 compared to Gasol's 0
Scalabrine has a ring. Charles Barkley doesn't.
Thats true but when comparing similar talents Rings is a very useful barometer IMO
