Yuck, Chris Paul was on the first team? That's absolutely ridiculous. He is not a good defender, at least not on the level of Rondo, Avery Bradley, or Kobe (and I HATE Kobe).
I hate the media's obsession with Chris Paul. He's a good player, but nobody else gets credit for things that he had no hand in like Chris Paul does. I remember at some point during these play-offs, during one of the games they lost against the Grizzlies, towards the end of the game Chris Paul gave a frustration foul (I think on Rudy Gay, though I could be wrong). It was very obviously, both by the body language and the context of that time of the game, just because he was frustrated and the Clippers had no chance of winning that game, and it was just a bit of a foolish, headstrong, but ultimately pointless move on his part.
Obviously, on ESPN the next day all the commentators were p---ing themselves over the foul, saying that he did it because Chris Paul has a masterful feel for the tempo and momentum of the game and it was a brilliant move blah blah blah blah. It's really god-danged annoying. He's a good enough player that you don't need to make stuff up to compliment him with, I don't understand why the media literally feels he can do no wrong.
I mean, he played TERRIBLY against the Spurs, who aren't even a very good defensive team, but nobody criticized him for his stupid turnovers, sloppy and inconsistent offensive play (especially early in games), or bad shot selection. Because he is Chris Paul, and OBVIOUSLY he can't make bad decisions.
It p---es me off.
