You're talking about two main incidences in the last 20 years, neither of which have occurred within the last 8 years, and IIRC, both of which happened in Canada.

They're different sports, with different organizations, so I don't think they're by any means judged by the same standard, and, it happened in another country, AND both incidences resulted in grievous injury.

There is no double standard here, they're not remotely relevant.

Yup. I'll sit here and wait until someone in basketball dies on the court from an injury caused by an intentionally malicious dirty play. Its its happened before, right? And isn't the game definitely slanting more towards the physical, dirty play that could provoke another such incident?

Second, Roger Goodell has never to my knowledge advocated prosecuting players criminally for on the field actions. Even with the Saints bounty scandal, the NFL is not advocating pressing criminal charges against any players, and they're not advocating pressing charges on any of the coaches, unless I missed a critical news release.

When Albert Haynesworth stomped on Andre Guode's head, was he criminally prosecuted? Goodell didn't think so then.

Stop giving Stern a free pass for not using his second job as Miami district attorney to prosecute these guys.   

It's tough arguing against the Goodell fetish that a lot of fans seem to have.  How can you disagree with these kinds of results?

Look - only 44 arrests in the past year, and only 15 for violent offenses!  Guy runs a tight ship, players know they can't step out of line.
