I'd like to see Dexter Pittman get a seven game suspension. That was pretty vile.

I just saw that in the other thread, I'd bailed on the game about midway through the 4th. That is (for me) a level above the Artest foul.

On top of it, he allegedly winked at the camera after doing so. Based off the severity, blatantness, and the irreverence of the player I wouldn't be shocked to see him suspended indefinitely.

The irrelevance of the player will likely have just as much to do with the length of the suspension as the irreverance.  The league can come across like they're taking a hard stance without truly punishing the Heat.

And that folks, is why you don't half check autospelling when trying to talk to your supervisor; you get roasted.

Oh jeez, I wasn't trying to be a spellchecking wiseguy.  The winking does definitely show irreverance.  I just think the fact that he's a nobody opens the door for an easy suspension.

Hahaha, oh, no offense taken at all, no worries, man! I was just making light of my own idiocy as well.

even worse than the World Peace foul on Harden.  Pittman should be out for the playoffs, period, and then another 20 games next season.

The refs are so inconsistent in order to protect the heat...haslam should've been kicked out of the game. I hope someone clotheslines leblron or wade next game in indiana

Not so sure that was an intentional elbow to the neck by Pittman.

Looked to me like he was just trying to put his elbow into Stephenson's chest to try and box out ... but was too slow to make it across and since Stephenson was smaller, elbow went higher than the chest. It looked more clumsy than viscous and intentional to me.

Bad foul and probably worth a one game suspension. I wouldn't give him more than that.

Anyway, it doesn't matter whether Pittman is suspended or not. He is rubbish. He does more harm to Miami by playing than he will in street-clothes.

At that speed one obviously can't say he was targeting his neck but if you look at the first replay, the camera from behind the baseline, there is no doubt that he has intent to hit him and his actions are not blocking out. One blocks out with their body, their hips and behind. Pittman sticks his elbow out and leads with it. His body is nowhere near the play. He knows he is hitting Stephenson and the whole league knows they want to hit that guy. Now, Pittman is not a good player but I don't believe his blockout technique is that poor. That is a clear lead with the elbow hit.

I am starting to really dislike D Wade.  He is such a hypocrite and punk.

This comment on espn just is so weak...
"I took a shot that I thought was uncalled for at that time. Obviously my face is not the ball."

Yeah D Wade, you only constantly throw out cheap shots on anyone you play, but you even do it in the all star game.  Plus the refs for whatever reason don't ever drop the boom on him.

I hope the pacers really respond in game 6 and hopefully game 7. I would rather the heat get beat by the Pacers and us loose to the pacers if we have to go down.  I officially like Lebron more than D Wade now, and that is saying a lot.

That was really my thought as well.  It looks he saw out of the corner of his eye someone in blue running to the basket to get a rebound and tried to get over and stop him but was late.  He led with his arm and winked at the camera afterwards, each of which should get him a game, so I predict a 2 game suspension.

Apparently, the JO shoulder to Lebron was worse that what Wade did to Collison. That's what I've been told at the PIM site.

Some people just shouldn't be let out in public.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I mean, look at it, his head is turned towards Stephenson. He sees him clearly, knows it is him, and then you can see him lead over with the elbow out, instead of maintaining his position, or going to block out with his rear end out, body on body. I'm not really invested in this, and we all know Pittman being suspended makes no difference in the series, but watching that video a few times, especially the baseline replay, there is no doubt that was an intentional hit on a marked man.

That was as intentional and premeditated as it gets.  Pittman identified where Stephenson was, targeted his head/neck, lead with his elbow, and made sure to let Stephenson's momentum do the rest.

The crazy part about it is that Pittman, for as bad as he is as a player, actually perfectly executed this malicious blow and made it look somewhat like he was trying to box out and that Stephenson actually took HIM out.

And to top it off - the wink and the quick smirk.

Pittman is the perfect candidate for a heavy suspension.  I'd be suprised if it wasn't something close to 8 games.  If that elbow had caught Stephenson dead-on in the windpipe we're talking a serious injury.

it was malicious, at least a 2 game suspension, league doesn't want to tilt any game or series too badly maybe they'll get noticed
good for bird, when he played he wouldn't have put up with loosing that way or being man handled, sadly pat riley is probably telling the heat just what is coming as he was the same way as bird (except the slick hair)

NBA.com has a poll on a Haslem suspension.  56% of voters think he should not be suspended.

Go vote.
