I missed the Pittman foul, what caused that to happen?

Stephenson's throat fouled Pitman's elbow

Stephenson had made the choke sign at LeBron after the latter missed free throws earlier in the series. Howard had gone at him, to give a talking to, not physical, at shoot-arounds the last few games, and this is the inevitable on-court retaliation. Premeditated and without any element of basketball play. Expect a decent suspension (see Bynum). Does it now overshadow Haslem and mean he doesn't sit?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
It was pretty obvious that LeBron took an intentional cheap shot at Granger. Also pretty obvious the Haslem's foul was pre-meditated. I don't think either guy was intending to harm anyone though.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

the nba's leniency on Metta World War precipitated such actions...it was inevitable...the nba needs to take a hard-line stance just like goodell took with the no saints...otherwise...somebody will get seriously hurt...see rudy t...

I'd like to see Dexter Pittman get a seven game suspension. That was pretty vile.

I just saw that in the other thread, I'd bailed on the game about midway through the 4th. That is (for me) a level above the Artest foul.

Haslem should be suspended as well as the bench warmer Pittman.

If Haslem is not, I hope the Pacers go down swinging-literally.

Or, for that matter, its leniency on D. Wade earlier in this same series.

The NBA has done a poor job of meting out punishment in an equitable way, and there will be a serious injury sooner or later. That results in public outcry and lawsuits. I don't expect Stern to do anything until he realizes that public perception has turned.

Pittman should be gone 4 games at least.

Haslem should miss game 6, but Rondo didn't miss a game for his shot on Brad Miller. Apparently Wade's foul on Collison was "different" than Jason Smith's soooo yeah....

the next logical extension is that it does not bode well for us if we play the heat...is the nba going to let the heat get away with these type of actions against us...if so...we do not stand a chance...get ready for wade/rondo part deux...we came out on the short end of that one...

On top of it, he allegedly winked at the camera after doing so. Based off the severity, blatantness, and the irrelevence of the player I wouldn't be shocked to see him suspended indefinitely.

EDIT: It'd also nice for a league to suspend a player for what COULD'VE happened to the 'victim', not what did. Stephenson was relatively fine.

My prediction.

Hansborough remains Flagrant 1, fine $5,000
Haslem upgrade to Flagrant 2, fine $10,000
Pittman upgrade to Flagrant 2, fine $15,000, suspension 2 games
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
