Terrance Ross is to workout for the Cs in Miami today

(I really dont think Ross falls to the 20s, if true this could be a sign that the Cs are exploring trading up)

+1...and if the report about taking a look see at Harrison Barnes is true, Danny may have a desire to move way up into the top 6..that would be exciting
I'm very curious as to what the package would be to move up high enough to get Barnes.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

In order to move up for Barnes my guess would be a team like Portland, Sac, or GS would want Pierce. All three teams have pieces in place to make the playoffs next season they just need leadership/scoring at the 3.

example would be
Paul + 21+22 to GS for #7 and #30

GS becomes a legit playoff team with Curry,Thompson,Pierce,Lee and Bogut and paul goes home to California

I personally would have a hard time with this trade but can see why it would happen.

Im not for using Rondo or AB to trade up.

not going to move up that high unless you trade Bradley and one of the picks. I don't want to move Bradley .

not a fan of that deal.  if that came to pass, consider KG gone.  can't see him resigning if PP is gone.  we'd be in total rebuild mode.  I know it's coming but not sure that's the deal I'd be looking for.

this. absolutely see it happening. i could also see another deal going down in the summer where danny does a sign and trade of bass and something else to get someone who's a borderline superstar, or potential superstar...

Chris Mullin is no longer the GM at Golden State. Don't think this is going to happen.

More likely that danny try to find a similar BBD for Bass trade this off season. Sending Bass out for a play with 1-2 years left on a deal for less then 5 mill. (cole aldrich has 2y 2.5mill, j Jerebko, 3y 4.5 mill, A Johnson 3y 5.5).

Bass has a $4 million player option and has said that he really wants to find a place where he can stay put rather than moving around every year. Why would he pick up his player option to be traded to a random team when he can just decline it and choose where he wants to go?

I would imagine there would be plenty of teams willing to match that $4 million number for him.

we are getting way off the draft workout subject but

The way it likely happens is Bass doesn't pick up his option for next season making him a RFA. His agent sits down withe the Cs and tells them that he wants a deal similar to BBD's 4y 6.3mill a year) the Cs wont want to take on that length or size of a deal. So danny and Bass's agent start looking for teams that want to pay bass the long term deal he covets. If they can find a team then they will do a sign and trade exactly like they did last year when BBD wanted more money and years then the Cs where willing to give.

The agent of any player projected to go about 6th should explore options probably within the top 12-15, and the reports that Danny's looking to move up could simply be his combining his two first rounders to get into that range.

There is zero chance of Ainge trading a franchise icon for draft picks. Not going to happen. That is not the way Ainge and Wyc do business.

If we move up, it'll be for some combination of a lesser player and our existing two first rounders.

That's a really interesting idea. Pierce, Bogut, Steph Curry and David Lee with the up and coming Klay Thompson rounding out the core of that team. Title contender.

I think Boston would be overpaying to give up both Pierce and the two draft picks though. I think it'd be Pierce straight up for the #7 and that later pick. So Boston would have three first rounders. Maybe try to package them for another late lottery pick or put all three together and move up further (#2 or #3) if there was someone Danny was very high on.

I also imagine we'd have to take back a contract to make the trade work financially. Probably Biedrins. I think that makes it a non-starter for Boston. Giving up Pierce + cap flexibility to get a #7 pick (Harrison Barnes mentioned here) is too big a price. I think that is the type of move you make in a larger rebuilding movement and I don't believe Danny wants to go in that direction at this point. I think Danny wants to find a quicker transition via that cap space (free agency or trade). He'll only go for that larger rebuilding process as a secondary option if his first preference fails (which hasn't happened yet).

Add KG to Golden State for the mid level if Pierce is traded there...

That's a good team that could make some real noise in the West.

If Pierce gets traded, KG is gone...
