Fab Melo doesn't have a tenth of KG athleticism and drive.  The guy barely averaged 5 RPG in college.   My dislike of him as a prospect has a lot less with him being dumb than showing signs of being lazy and lacking elite athletic ability.  Watch the tape on him he doesn't play above the rim.

I have almost zero interest in Fab Melo.

From what I've seen of him (honestly haven't even looked at his numbers just the few Syracuse games I've seen) I'm just not impressed.

Me either, but some here seem to think a magic switch is going to turn on him and all of the sudden he is going to be athletic.

I've always been a believer that Ainge made the Perkins trade to help rebuild the two positions post Pierce/Allen era.  SF, and Guard.  He pinned Jeff Green for the SF spot (Pierce), and using the 2012 draft for the G spot.  I don't have him going big in this draft, despite the need for a big, rebounding, etc.  If he had a top 10 pick, different story.

I believe he's always thought that retaining KG is a must, and everything else would fall into place.  He could find that Perkins replacement, just like he found Perkins himself. Ainge has always been high on Bradley, and he knew he had a guard there to fit into the PG or SG role.

I could see him adding one of the Washington guards, Tony Wroten or Terrence Ross, or UNC guard Kendall Marshall.  With Green's issues, SF could also be a position that slips in this draft and migh be something Ainge takes a deep look at.  Quincy Miller, Jeff Taylor, or Terrence Jones.

As the draft is always a guess, my guess is that two of these players above are Celtics if the picks are kept.  Can never count out Ainge trading the pick(s) for the right deal (veteran addition).

Same here.  Basically, he looks uninterested in basketball (and I am not sure about the intelligence either).  Particularly in a draft this deep, I think you can do much better.

I like that one.  Taylor and Nicholson would both be solid picks at that point in the draft.  I am not blown away with either of them, but they aren't red flag guys either.

Swinging for the fences is fine.  But not with incredibly flawed prospects like Melo and White.

Those guys are not talented enough to even be high reward picks IMO.

Now Mo Harkless...that would be a nice swing for the fence.

I want Evan Fournier and some 6'12 kid from French Guiana who has been playing in a low-key french professional league since he was 12 years old. #boldmoves

I would be fine with that too.  I just think that people are assuming that guys like Melo are "dropping" because of secondary things which won't hurt them in the NBA.  I think they are dropping, because they aren't very good basketball players.

I knew that I didn't want Fab Melo when I saw someone comparing him to Dan Gadzuric.

Gadzuric should be offended by that.  At least he tried during a contract year.

For some reason Draymond Green keeps popping up as a Ainge type pick.  I know he has a scheduled workout for the C's lined up already, so I assume interest is there.  Green has also indicated that he will be picked between 20-30, so somebody might of given him a promise already.  Who knows.  Wasn't sure they could do that this early, but I don't know the rules.

Ainge likes to gamble on those bodies who don't have NBA positions.  The ones where scouts aren't sure whether they play PF or a SF in the NBA.  With Green, he's just a flat out player.  So that could be interesting to watch.

Green is intriguing.  He is kind of the opposite of many of the tweeners we see.  We usually see guys with SF bodies but the games of PFs.  Green has the game of a SF, but has the body of a PF.

I think a lot of it with Green will be how he works out individually, and whether he can transform his body by working with a professional trainer before draft day.  He has just been carrying any extra 30+ pounds on his frame, which would obviously hurt his athleticism.

I do love his game though.  If he can mould his body, and in the process become a little quicker, he could be a very good NBA player.  He has all the intangibles and skills you want in a SF...its just a question of whether he can hang athletically.
