Never mind I hate him now.

LOL

I never stopped hating him.

Those flops were pretty disgusting.  I don't know how anyone beats them if they keep getting calls like this. ???

UPDATE: Nike said Sunday that sneaker designer Jason Petrie's tweets seeming to mock Derrick Rose's injury -- and suggesting he would not have torn his ACL if he was wearing Nike basketball shoes instead of Adidas -- were "inappropriate."

Said spokesman Brian Strong in a statement: "As a brand that is passionate about sport, we recognize the intense level of play that every athlete has engaged in during this basketball season and respect the dedication it takes to compete. One of our basketball footwear designers posted comments online that we feel are inappropriate, and he has since apologized. We wish anyone who is injured a speedy recovery."

PREVIOUS: The designer behind LeBron James' Nike shoes has sparked outrage on the Internet by seeming to mock Derrick Rose's season-ending knee injury on Twitter -- and suggesting Rose would not have been hurt if he had worn Nike basketball sneakers instead of Adidas.

Senior footwear designer Jason Petrie tweeted the 23-year old Rose "chose poorly" and "#shouldasignedwithNIKE #GWS (Get well soon)" after the Chicago Bulls superstar and reigning NBA MVP tore knee ligaments during his club's first-round playoff game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday in Chicago.

"Jason Petrie has as much class as LeBron has rings," wrote one tweeter. Another tweeted Petrie has "no respect for the game or its warriors."

Sunday Nike spokesman Brian Strong confirmed the tweets were from Petrie but declined further comment. In February, Rose signed a 14-year contract extension to be the face of Adidas basketball. His new deal could net him as much as $260 million over the course of his NBA career.

Petrie did tweet somewhat of an apology Sunday: "Wow! Twitterverse I do apologize. It was really just tongue n cheek! Never meant any harm or disrespect! "

He chose to sign with Miami because he deserves a ring.

Nobody deserves a ring.  Even if you are physically gifted. To earn a ring, you need to ask WWBD= what would Bird do: work on your game, make your mates better, play the right way.

The hype is not his fault. There is only one way to contradict that, tho, which is to lay back and make your statement on the court.

So we now blame Lebron for the actions of people at Nike.  Is Lebron the reason there is world hunger and world war also?

Get drafted to a good organization that put amazing talent around him.

I hate him for what he does against us on the court as a Celtic fan. I hate how he gets easy calls but that's the fault of the league.

That said I don't hate him personally. I think LeBron's PR guy is an idiot and also that he lacks media-savvy and the knowledge of how to present himself as a public figure.

Best case in point: the "decision". Sure it's for charity but his image went down the drain after that stupid, stupid episode. I think it was intended to up his attention (including the charity part of it) and even though they say no publicity is bad, this is.

The "decision" on ESPN made his act of joining up with other stars that much worse. I'll admit, that made me dislike him quite a bit initially. Basically a middle finger to Cleveland.

I'm pretty sure he's a nice guy off the court. But what do you expect from a guy who's had money thrown at him right after graduating high school? He's bound to be somewhat egotistical and not world-savvy at all.

He's not being sinister at all. Just exactly what you'd expect from a guy in his situation. I wish major sports cared about education a bit more but the that's the way the world works.

On the other hand, lots of people say that Michael Jordan is a jerk. The one that stuck out to me is (warning: language):

Nice to know our big three are such chill guys off the court btw

LeBron might turn into that once he hits the "top of the world". Hopefully he doesn't. I've heard people say money corrupts and I've heard people say money brings out your true self. I like to think there's good in everyone but that's for another thread.

Seriously, what if Bird and Magic ended up in say San Diego and Cleveland?  Their careers would have looked a great deal differently.
