I am pretty surprised that no one from the Thunder did anything in retaliation. Not that retaliation is the smartest move, it just seems like such a cheap shot that you have to react to support your team mate.
I think this is the sort of spot where you have to wait to retaliate. MWP has been ejected. Wait for at least the second game that you play him to lull him in a false sense of security, then hit him in the air the next time he tries a dunk or layup, trying to undercut him so he rotates in the air and lands on his head unprotected.
