the laker thugs are at it again. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Kobe is the classiest guy on that team. Bynum is a thug and Artest is a violent jerk. Fisher was a cheapshot artist, and Odom had his share of dirty takedowns too, including a middair headlock on Ray Allen.

I won't forget the knee to the thigh Ray got in the NBA finals that took him basically out of the series.
Really, it is the league, they let it go.....easily seen on replay....!

I think Stern should get creative with punishments for stuff like this. Make him get total body tattoo removal so all his friends will tell him he looks ridiculous. Then he'll notice a difference in the mirror every morning

Well, if I was a Laker fan, I'd applaud Metta's actions, because the man single-handedly gave them a title vs. us a few years back, what with his cheap shot on Ray that basically rendered him ineffective on offense the rest of the Finals (and his ridiculous shooting in Game 7). Watch the league not come down harsh enough on this...remember Bynum was a repeat offender and didn't really get hit that hard for his horrible shot on Barea in the playoffs last year.

I saw this posted on one of the youtube videos and I completely agree

Ron Artest claims to be able to bench 450+ Lbs... He could have easily broken anatomy on C-1 or C-2 and if something happens like that, you're dead. Had that hit been a little lower, we would be talking about murder charges for Ron and if he intended to kill Harden. It's no joke, someone could have really died. Shameful day to call myself a Laker fan, I'm disgusted.

He could have seriously injured or even killed harden with a wind up elbow like that.

Kick this scum out of the league. Would like to see him try something like that on Perk and see what happens ...

Based on past history, I would say a suspension of more than the two games that Jason Smith got for fouling Blake Griffin and Kevin Love got for stepping on Luis Scola, but no more than the five games that Andrew Bynum got for the flagrant foul against JJ Barea.

Anything more would mean that he's being treated unfairly compared to other players.

But none of the aforementioned players are repeat offenders.

So, it should be more than Smith or Love because of that, but Bynum was a repeat offender, which is why he got more than two games.

4-5 games sounds right, based on the NBA history of suspensions, unless you think this was much worse in isolation (that is, ignoring past history) than Bynum's foul on Barea.  If it's more, it would be because the NBA wants to increase penalties for blows to the head (and we can expect increases in future suspensions for even accidental contact to the neck and head area).

Sending him to Turkey for a year would be awesome

It's a shame Artest has done this. He was playing so well recently and looked in the best shape physically that he has been in all year.

Three dunks in the first half. I can't remember the last time I saw him dunk the ball three times in the same game. What a waste. It's a shame.

This is worse than Bynum, "World Peace" wound up and went to the head of another player as hard as he possibly could .

Suspended for the year at minimum , after watching it over and over it is really bad, he needs to be banned from the NBA.

I am pretty surprised that no one from the Thunder did anything in retaliation.  Not that retaliation is the smartest move, it just seems like such a cheap shot that you have to react to support your team mate.

I mean that was the cheapest of cheap shots right in front of two of his team mates.  Maybe in the video it doesn't completely show their reactions?  But it looks like they were like eh no big deal...

Artest should have been banned when he went into the stands 7.5 years ago.

Oh and Gasol is the only classy Laker.

Ibaka and Artest squared off at half court and were both in a fighting stance. If the refs didn't step in it would have gotten much worse, I wish Perk got to him though .

I crossed Gasol off my classy player list when he talked crap about Garnett in the media after KG had his knee surgery and was still getting back into shape. Gasol was talking like KG should be put out to pasture and Pau was an MVP candidate or something because he barely outplayed a one-legged KG.

The oddest thing is...they usually penalize the retaliator MORe than the...taliator....???....even in local leagues, i hit a guy...who nailed me with a shoulder as i was just running past....they called me out....NOT him..they said i retaliated.....I said okay, butr if you KNOW there was a response..how about the initial....."T" for ME....LOL...gotta love the refs WE pay for in those leagues..LOL....

Thanks for the clarification.  I only have seen these clips and not the full context.  Good for Ibaka!
