This is going to be a retool year like when we did when we traded for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett

The only player who i believe is a lock at staying is Jeff Green and Stiemsma, similar to the Tony Allen and Perkins staying the last time around

It would not shock me, we have a ton of assets

Brandon Bass
Kevin Garnett S&T
Ray Allen S&T
Pierce with his basically expiring contract
Rondo
Bradley
2 first round picks
Jajuan johnson
Etwan Moore
Cap Space

This is going to be a wild offseason

but let's first get 18 up in the rafter

I don't think trading away your youngest two gems is going to make you any better. Rather keep them and build around 'm. Plenty of cap space anyway.

That was to obtain some really big names in Ray and KG.

Also, as I understand, Green was a "failed experiment". Rondo right now is a top PG, Avery is the best defender in the league at his position.

And once more; we've got plenty of cap space anyway. I can see some of the other assets you're talking about, just not Rondo and Bradley.

That said, I guess you're right: Ainge might.

I don't get the logic here.

Both Rondo and Bradley are long term value players that are signed long term and playing above what they are getting paid. Why trade them? Those are the type of players you keep.

The trades that netted KG and Ray Allen were trades that gutted a team absolutely littered with young talent to obtain proven veteran stars.

This team has proven veteran stars and has very little youth. Why trade your two young proven players signed for a bargain?

KG is a center that might be top 4 in the league this year. Pierce is STILL one of the best SFs in the league. Rondo and Bradley are probably the most deadly defensive back court combo in the league. That's what you build around.

Heck, if anything, Jeff Green is the guy you sign and trade for a veteran star to add to the above core.

The only thing I agree with you about is that Stiemsma is going nowhere.

LOL I love how Gerald Green is now talked about.

He was irrelevant for years.

TP - I really don't see how there is "no doubt" that one of them is getting traded. This a relatively low cost explosive backcourt. Unless we are getting a bonified star, I don't understand why trading either of them would even be a consideration.

I know there have been discussions on trading Rondo and signing Deron, but I highly doubt Deron is even considering coming here.

I would be extremely shocked if both RR and AB were traded.  We are getting extremely good value for their contracts right now.  We wouldn't be getting better value for the dollar if they were traded away.

I think it is not certain that Green will be with us next season.  The c's will have the most information on his recovery and his ability to contribute, but there are a lot of pieces in motion in this off season.  JG's future with the C's at least is up in the air a bit at this point.

You didn't explain why you think either of them specifically will be traded. As others have said, they're a very affordable back court for the level of production they provide, I don't see how trading either of them makes any sense unless an unreal deal comes our way.

You dont trade Young studs.

Rondo and Bradley could be the backcourt of the future, the only thing that needs to be improved is the PF/C/SF positions, and you do that by building throw the draft and trading a mix of pieces for players with potential.

Ainge said if Bradley had stayed in college, he would be a Top 5 pick in this years draft, and Rondo is already playing like a #1 Pick.

Green was the #5th pick.

So you have Rondo/Green/Bradley to build around, all young studs, now you look for a young C or a PF in a draft, you dont trade your only good pieces, that would throw us back into being a 15 win lottery team again.

yep. good call.

Youngest gems that are being paid at a discount on top of that. Unless we're getting $1.25 for the dollar, I don't think Danny is trading Bradley or Rondo.
