Title of this thread IS absurd no doubt about it

Seriously. I actually thought there was a source, a tweet, a snippet, some type of info.

I'm really not a fan of misleading thread titles.

I don't get the logic here.

Both Rondo and Bradley are long term value players that are signed long term and playing above what they are getting paid. Why trade them? Those are the type of players you keep.

The trades that netted KG and Ray Allen were trades that gutted a team absolutely littered with young talent to obtain proven veteran stars.

This team has proven veteran stars and has very little youth. Why trade your two young proven players signed for a bargain?

KG is a center that might be top 4 in the league this year. Pierce is STILL one of the best SFs in the league. Rondo and Bradley are probably the most deadly defensive back court combo in the league. That's what you build around.

Heck, if anything, Jeff Green is the guy you sign and trade for a veteran star to add to the above core.

The only thing I agree with you about is that Stiemsma is going nowhere.

yep. good call.

The most impressive thing about Celticsblog, by far, is how often someone starts a thread that seems silly on its face, but then people make a solid effort to bring it around to a serious discussion.

I'm not picking on this thread in particular, because it happens a lot, but we have some quality people on this board.

The thing is this offseason is the scheduled rebuild year

Ainge isn't the type of person to hope for a better future, he wants to contend now

he had the pieces in place to land some major players

If he was interested in actually developing talent we would've kept Gerald Green, traded pierce for the #3 pick and chris paul, and kept al jefferson

Ainge has quietly managed to pull together some assets and nobody is truly untouchable as Ainge says

As a result, it wouldn't shock me if a major roster overhaul is done this offseason

KG and Ray came over last time to team up with paul

This time around we have guys like

LaMarcus Aldridge, David Lee, Dwight Howard, Josh Smith, OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, Deron Williams, Roy Hibbert, Eric Gordon, Andrew Bogut, and Al Jefferson

It would shock me if 2-3 of these guys WEREN'T wearing a celtics jersey come next season

We could be going

Rondo/Rivers/Josh Smith/Aldridge/Stiemsma Next year
with Jeff Green 6th man.

I think there's a good chance we might make a push for aldridge or david lee, they might come cheaper than we expect, especially if we are willing to take on a bad contract in return which we can, Biedrins would actually be serviceable for us

or something come next year

I have a strong feeling Rivers is going to find his way into boston, Doc was going to leave coaching to "be closer to his son" and then he went on to sign an extension, obviously the premise behind it was possibly working together

If we don't get Rivers, Eric Gordan and OJ Mayo are there to fill in the SG void

I'll be willing to risk all the assets we have

and try to end up with a lineup of

Rondo/Eric Gordon/Josh Smith/David Lee/Steamer

We try to outbid for Gordon if not pay for Mayo, whoever's cheaper. I'm also going to take pierce's word on retiring, we may amnesty him to allow for this

We can sign & trade Ray Allen a Pick and Bass for Josh Smith

We package S&T KG, throw in JJJ to land David Lee and Beindries

The kicker is we can throw the MLE to get andrei Kirlienko or something

You just can't trade two players like these guys unless traded together.  Only way to maximize their value.  Rondo and Bradley could probably fetch a darn good player.

Hopefully Danny doesn't trade them.

I think there's a good argument for trading Bradley. His value is very big right now, and if he has a good playoff, it might be the time to sell.

Let's face it, Bradley has been a pleasant surprise, but he has flaws.

Bradley + 1st for a top 10 pick? I think I would do that if the right player were available.

Rondo, you do not trade.

Why are misleading and unfounded articles allowed to be printed in here? I mean, where is the seriousness that is supposed to permeate this blog? Whats next: that the world will surely end in 2017?

These are the forums. That's different. They're a means for the community to express themselves. There are limits, of course, but we're not going to disallow people to voice their opinions, no matter how they formulate their unsubstantiated opinions ;)

Ainge views Bradley as a top 5 pick in a draft, he said so earlier, so I doubt he trades him away for a top 10 draft pick unless its a player that is a franchise changer.

Ainge said Bradley would be top 5 in the 2011 draft.

This draft is deeper than the last one, by nearly all accounts.

Which players projected 5-10 would you pick if you were ainge and were to trade Bradley though? I doubt anyones going to give up a 1-5 pick for Bradley in this draft.

That would be worth discussion. If somehow this lands you a Top 10 pick ( I'm not sure if it would ), you may consider it.
Danny will definitely look at the options. But I'm not so sure how this will pan out. He may stick to his own weapons or not.
But yes, the way this season has gone, AB is tradeable, of course.

LOL I love how Gerald Green is now talked about.

He was irrelevant for years.

Until he came back and started looking like a really good player........
