Tebow is unquestionably a winner.  But far from an NFL quarterback.  Elway wants to win a championship.

It'll never happen with Tebow as your starting quarterback.

Plain and simple.
But it will happen with Peyton Manning?

Given the current state of the AFC, I'd say that the Broncos chances have just increased significantly.
I'd rather be any other team in the AFC West than the Broncos right now. Jason Campbell for a full career over Peyton Manning for 4 games? Philip Rivers?

Hey I heard Barry Sanders just ripped his right leg off in a horrific crocodile accident, and wants to make a come back. Oh look. The Broncos just offered him the richest RB contract in the league. Wow. The Broncos are so smart.

So, the latest report is that the Broncos worked out trades with both the Jets and Jaguars, and let Tebow pick his destination.  Allegedly, he chose the Jets.

If that's true, what's that say about Tebow?  Did he pick the bigger media market over the chance to win a starting job?

Interesting on several counts - especially given that he was in Florida prior to the NFL. I viewed Jags as best fit for Tebow, but... you never know what makes a person tick. I'm not so sure it had to do with size of the media market, though. It might also be that he feels the Jets have a better chance to win than the Jags.

I kinda saw it as the bigger challenge, Manning went where he would be "comfortable", given everything we know about Tebow and everything we know about the Jets lockerroom this is anything but comfortable for Tebow.

I will also say that I think Tebow is in a situation now where he is more likely to be on a winning Team than in Jacksonville.

Total speculation on my part but I wonder if it had anything to do with the idea of being placed with the burden of being the hometown hero returning to Florida and being charged with trying to save professional football in Jacksonville?

Heavy load to carry.
My thought was his agent steered him to the bigger endorsement market. And if Tebow actually leads the Jets to a Super Bowl win he'll be a legend for the next 300 years.

Jason Campbell's not even in the AFC West anymore.  He's in Chicago.

I guess I'd take Carson Palmer too, but I probably wouldn't be excited about it. But at least he didn't have 4 neck surgeries last year.

I can't stand the jets or their coach.  Don't really care for Tebow, either-- but make no mistake, this is a good move all around.

Why it works for the Jets--
O.C. Tony Soprano will take offense from anywhere.  Remember the wildcat?  He will surely make a package for Tebow to highlight his skills.  giving up picks for a backup is questionable, but Tebow will play every game.

In addition to his value as a niche specialist, they have someone to motivate their other qb to be more of a leader.  Sanchez has teammates calling him Lazy.  Here he gets a push from a guy with certain leadership skills that can even step in and finish a game for him if he looks like he's going to blow another game. Sanchez insurance/ role model.

If I was the Jacksonville owner, this is a huge disappointment, but the coach?  with such a fanatical fan base, the coach would not be able to bench the guy.  In New York, people are mostly not expecting a gridiron messiah like they would in Jax.
"You're skating on pretty thin ice around here, McGee!"
"Sounds like the ice's problem."
