I think you all are missing the critical point about Rajon Rondo.
We're not blaming him, we're simply stating the obvious. I don't think we all watch the same game, if you can't see what we see when he plays. 1st of all stats don't matter unless you're winning games. Look at Jeremy Lin for example: Statistically he's not that great being a point guard because of his turnovers. Averaging about 7 TO a game in his last 7 games, but he's WINNING! He's not winning because he's better than Rondo, he has better players or even has better coaching. He's winning because he does what he needs to in order to make his team win. Rondo pad stats and wants to prove to the world that he's the best point guard.
Anyhow this isn't about Rondo stats... its about his ability to execute when it matters most. For 4 years now we've been talking about his horrid jump shot... why hasn't he worked on another form of shot...like a floater (D. Rose, Sherman Dougls, Allen Iverson) etc...
Lastly I don't blame him for this either, but why is Doc leaving him in games to close out knowingly teams will only collapse on the wings & bigs in the paint to force Rondo to make a jump shot. Honestly i'm amazed more teams don't play like the Mavs when they play the Celtics and just zone up and force Rondo to beat them. The Celtics are too easy to beat with a player like Rondo dominating the posessions. When a player like Pierce dominated the posessions (previously to Rondo coming back from injury) Its a different ball game. Pierce is unpredictable & Rondo is very predictable.
There you have it, we're not blaming him or saying he's not good. He's just not a good fit for what this team needs.
Allen Iverson C'mon Down!!!
