I don't think the blame is all that crazy either. All we're looking for is 20 points, 20 assists, 15 rebounds, 3 steals, and less than 3 turnovers a night. And he should hustle on every play. And every time he gambles on defense or with a risky pass it has to work. And obviously we have to win every game so he needs to make sure everyone else is hitting their shots and playing tight D.

Wait are you serious? Can't tell.

I don't see many people at all blaming Rondo tonight, so kind of surprised to even see this thread. Rondo was by far the best player on the floor tonight for both teams. What I see, however, is some dysfunction on this team and I am not sure it can be fixed.

ppl love paul, so they want someone to blame when as expected his skills decline, if rondo was on the team in the late eighties ppl would have blamed him for birds back and mchale's foot.

Why is it so hard to say that Ray and Paul SUCKED tonight and SOMEONE had to score??

Because it's easier to blame Rondo for everything than admit that our Big Three are old and past their prime.

Why people want to trade our youngest/most important player is something I will never understand.  I get he's our best trading chip, but you aren't going to get anything in return that will suddenly make us the best team in the East or even serious contenders this year. (The CP3 trade was the closest we would've come to that)

I'm sure people would find a way to blame him for it now.

Everyone is really pretending that Ray and Paul were wide open and hitting all the shots they were taking, but Rondo just decided to be selfish, keep the ball to himself and keep taking jumpers even though our number 1 and number 2 scoring options were hot. Yeah. That's what happened tonight ::)

Because they are proven vets and were the biggest reasons for banner 17. Problem is those vets are in the twilight of their careers and aren't as consistent as they used to be.

Rondo gets too much blame, I've been guilty of it myself. No trade or lineup change is going to fix the age of the Big 3. It is what it is.

LOL, the Rondo hate is a little out of control. Tonight Rondo gets 35 on 15-27 shooting and people complain because he didn't get Ray and Paul into the "flow" of the game. I'll take those numbers everyday of the week. The fact is Ray, Paul, and KG are not what they used to be, and we need to just accept it. The solution is not trading our young guys to make one last run.

Like the threads suggesting we trade Rondo for a 38 year old Steve Nash. Then what? We would end up getting smashed in the playoffs anyway. And when the old timers retire what are we left with? Nothing. We'd be back in the Travis Knight, Andrew Declerq days.

Top Tier Free Agents don't want to play in Boston. In the past 20 years, what top free agent has signed with the Celtics? Xavier Mcdaniel? old Dominique? old Gary Payton? Gugliotta? the Great Calbert Cheaney? Every top player the Celtics have had were because of trades or the draft. Dwight Howard and Deron Williams are not walking through the door gang.

Can Rondo be frustrating? yes. The lack of a Jumper, the questionable passes in traffic, too much dribbling, coasting on defense sometimes. But when Rondo is on, he is a darn good player.

I'm getting to a point where I hope Rondo gets traded; he deserves an opportunity to play for a fanbase that respects/appreciates his contributions. He really has never been in that position in his entire career. As long as he's in Boston, he'll ALWAYS be the scapegoat. Its draining on the few fans that see him for the player he is, I can only imagine how it feels for him.

And people wonder why Free Agents don't want to come here...

Where are the people putting the blame on Rondo? It's like this thread is replying to no one, or at most 2 or 3 loons who think Rondo is the reason they lost tonight.

I'll admit I've been a lor too hard on Rondo but I still stand by the statement that we're not extremely successful when Rondo scores 28-30 points. All his big scoring games we either lost or the game was down to the wire

I agree. I don't want him out but, man Rondo deserves better than this. Aside from a couple of slump days, he's the only one on that starting rotation to bust his rear end so hard and yet he still is the reason why we lost. 35 points on 55% shooting, 6 assists (at least 47 points is accounted to him), and 4 steals. And yet he's the reason why we lost?

How about we got rebounded again??? Isn't that right JO?
