The Cavs:

Starters:

PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Landry Fields
SF: Luol Deng
PF: Kris Humphries
C: Andrew Bynum

Bench:

Brandon Bass
George Hill

Like the Humphries, Bynum combo. Rebounds againts this team would be hard to get.

I actually think Humphries' rebounding rep is a bit overrated. Next to Bynum he'll be fine as a rebounder (and they're a very good rebounding team), but I think being a team that actively rebounds, as opposed to the Nets whose next best rebounder is Shelden Williams, Humpries would look pretty average, right around 7-8 boards a night or so.

Team that might be tickling the playoffs this season (honestly, I have to look at the other teams to compare)

But will likely be regulars going forward.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
The New Orleans Hornets select Brandon Rush.

Excellent defensive wing who is hitting the three at a higher rate than anybody this year.  One of those things will remain true.  The other won't, although it should still stay above average.

I'll take the gamble that the other guy I want is still here on Monday morning.
I was very close to taking him with my last pick. I think Excellent D might be a little bit of an exageration though.

Roy's right - at Golden State, it's been a bit of an overstatement.  It was certainly true when he was at Indiana, though.

I've thought his defensive play for the Warriors has been very good. First year that he's impressed me, overall.

Good pick.

Add to that that, he shoots in an other worldy 54% from 3 point land. Really good pick. Was hoping my boy (yes, Im a big Rush fan ever since he got here in the Bay Area) would land to me in the late round.

Interesting.  I see the Cavs as a clear playoff team, and as an outside contender.  I'd agree, though, that they're probably a year or two away.

Looking at the rest of the East, I think this team is a lock for the playoffs, barring a Bynum or Irving injury (which isn't a guarantee), probably somewhere in the 5-7 range for seed. A year or two from being a true contender, though.

Does it concern you that your top two players both come with severe injury issues?

I'm on my phone so this is really slow but I'm pretty sure the next two picks are mine so I'll take Kousta Koufus and Alonzo Gee

Man, that's just a bad trade.  New Orleans gave up the best player in the deal, and the better picks.

I'm curious hearing why you preferred Lee to Rush so much, Atzar.  I've drafted both players in the past, and like both of them, but I think Rush is having a better year, and I think he's a better piece going forward.

Nice pick up for Knicks. Rush and Lee are pretty similar but Rush I think is better in a sense that he can both play SG or SF without being overpowered or be to slow against opponents.

Hmmm... I like Lee more than Rush, but the picks are certainly worth a lot more than the difference.

I disagree.  Rush is relying on a statistical anomaly to have his first decent year.  He's been a useful player in GS, but I value Lee's consistency.

I've got 2 minds about this. On the one side, I like Rush for me better.

On the other side, Courtney Lee is a proven playoff-caliber starter, and Rush has a lot of question marks. I don't think its far to label the trade like you did for Atzar. Lee's a proven commodity, whereas Rush is much more inconsistent, higher upside.
