  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Kyle Lowry
Courtney Lee
Tayshaun Prince
Paul Millsap
Dwight Howard

Is it me, or does this team look really good, but not all that interesting? Like a properly grilled chuck steak, seasoned only with salt and pepper. The reality is that there really isn't all that much better out there in God's green Earth you could eat, but at the same time, its no KFC Double-Down.

Properly grilled, boring chuck steak, meet your competition:

Kyrie Irving
Landry Fields
Luol Deng
Kris Humphries / Brandon Bass
Andrew Bynum

Kind of an accurate comparison. No doubt the Cavs have a good thing going. People say things like 'quietly having a good season', but Luol Deng and Brandon Bass are quietly beating the crap out of this season. Irving is more than most bargained for, and looks like he's got an all-star appearance in his near future. And of course there is the petulant but over-achieving child-man, Andrew Bynum who, barring injury (and because of the injuries to others), has surpassed all comers for 2nd place among NBA centers. A distant second, for sure, but second.

Then there are the question-marks of Kris Humpries and Landy Fields, and the question of whether or not Irving's body will hold up, or if Bynum's antagonistic nature will have any farther reaching ramifications other than a technical or two.

Its for sure an innovative way to build a solid but interesting team.

1. Brandon Jennings
2. Paul George
3. Wilson Chandler
4. Derrick Williams
5. Tyson Chandler

JR Smith

I have literally no idea what to say about this team that hasn't already been said about Bell Biv DeVoe.

I agree with you mostly, IP but I think there's questions about Landry Fields. He was ABYSMAL last playoffs. My guess is it's rookie nerves, but I don't think you can just write him off as 'rock solid'

Newly destructed Philly ROcky Balboa's

Andre Miller
Kevin Martin
Danilo Gallinari
some forward
Spencer Hawes.

Any bashings? ;D

Defense just became priority one for you, and filling a starters' role in round 5 is brutal here, because its really round 7.

I'm demanding that everybody on the team goes to Bradon Jennings' barber for the Gumby high-top fade. Then, off to the mall for matching outfits.

I agree. I'm a huge Landry Fields fan, but his 3pt shot is gone with the wind, effective midway through last season, and his defense is more 'smart' than 'good'. He's a 'doesn't hurt ya' kind of defender, not a cornerstone.

I expected him to come back this year better than ever, but he's kind of regressed, and the incoming crazy-bomb known as JR Smith coming to town isn't going to help him elevate his play any.

Agreed. To be clear I think he was the right pick, and a good fit for Cleveland. I just don't think he's quite 'rock solid'

EDIT: Except for your comments about J(ust) R(easonable) Smith who is just misunderstood

The New Houston Rockets

PG: Jose Calderon
SG: Mike Dunleavy (Quieltly have a pretty good year)
SF: Carmelo
PF: Kenyton Martin
C:  Big Al Jefferson

PF/C Ed Davis

Probably a playoff team, but I'd amend that 'probably' to a certitude if you can replace Kenyon Martin with Samuel Dalembert.

Marc Gasol is the second best center in the NBa.

He's not a great fit alongside a guy like Carmelo.  I expect that playing him in between Irving and Deng will bring him back into the comfort zone he felt last year, where he was a perfect complement to Felton and Gallinari.

I'm saying this while wearing my Ed Davis superfan button on, but I like Ed Davis starting. I think his quickness and speed helps with Al Jefferson.

Even if K-Mart was dunking like he was still a Bearcat last night.

Maybe. 'Perfect Compliment' is a bit of a stretch, you're talking about a .500 squad that was just 'okay', with Fields as the 5th best starter.

But the encouraging thing about Fields is that he's selfless, has shown he can probably hit around 37% from 3 consistently, and that he's really awesome at getting the ball to the big fella down low while not committing any turnovers. Any reservations people have about Irving not being a distributor should be alleviated by Fields and Deng. Bynum should get to eat, and eat well.

Marc Gasol is the second best center in the NBa.

I'll take the guy who scores more points, shoots a higher percentage, grabs more boards, and blocks as many shots in fewer minutes.

I bet you insist that Target is totally better than Wal-Mart as well, even though you know they only bump their prices to keep poor people out.

Marc Gasol indeed.

I think Ed Davis is quickly becoming one of the most overrated players in the NBA.  (In our fantasy keeper league, we saw somebody trade Blake Griffin for Ed Davis + a top-five pick.)  We're talking about a guy who is putting up 6 and 6 this year.  He had a lot of hype coming out of school, but has he done anything to warrant it, other than regressing from a solid-but-not-spectacular rookie season?
