I sent a list to the commish this morning and he didn't make my pick. I had to pick late. Thankfully got one of my top 3. The Commish has it in for GS.
This is why you shouldn't be sending him lists, we've typically made it a rule to that effect. Managing trades, skips, and other issues takes up all the commish's time as is.

Not blaming you for sending him the list as he's been doing it for a large amount of people this draft. But as a general rule lists should be sent to someone other than the commish.

Got 2 4th round picks to round out the starting lineup and start building the bench.  Definitely happy with where I'm at right now, I think this team would take down the real rockets pretty easily.
Rondo being the excellent GM and astute champion builder of teams that he is, brings up a good point.

HOW MANY GMs FEEL THEY HAVE SO FAR CREATED A BETTER TEAM THAN THE REAL TEAM THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER??

Yes.  I have the Spurs plus Bosh.

Have to agree with the three GMs that have thus far answered. wd has definitely made the Spurs better, Rondo has made the Rockets better, and Yoki has probably made his team worse.

I think both Roy and I feel that the Cavs are substantially improved.

Any team that has a top heavy roster is going to probably improve. (two less teams and you can improve your 3-11 guys)

Teams based on depth are more likely to get worse (76ers, Memphis, Celtics....)

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Knicks only have 4 players and are already better.

Im sure we can work something out as long as your name is not Roy or Nick.
I don't understand. Everyone who trades with us is usually very happy after the trade. This sounds more like IP propaganda at work :D

Haha, very happy until the trade is announced, you mean.

Yup, that's what this game is about.  Although I was liking the Pacers until they grabbed the rookie.

I was strongly considering a 2 man team like the Jazz.

Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

exactly.  I'd lump the bulls in with the depth category.  With the exception of Rose, the rest are pretty much complementary pieces.

My Bulls wouldn't beat today's Bulls but I think my version will be better situated for a longer run at titles.

Bulls are a tough case, they have an MVP caliber type guy and then a lot of depth.

So they really are inbetween the two "types" I outlined.

Yeah but they've pretty clearly got 3 top caliber guys outside of Rose. Deng, Boozer, and Noah all went first round IIRC.

Similar to the Celtics (without the MVP talent), Allen and Rondo both also went first round.

Looking to move up in the 4th (14) because I will not be around to make that pick.  (yes, I will leave a list)

Like Fafnir said.

I struggled a bit with my first two selections, Gay, Gasol and ZBo. Marc was the easy pick, but then I had to go with Rudy because ZBo won't be back until March. Even once he gets back there's no guarantee that he will be the same as he was in the playoffs, and his numbers were already slightly worse starting this year, too.

I think his replacement (DWest) goes well with my squad, though, and is perhaps a very slight downgrade IMO - especially rebounding-wise.

But I feel very comfortable with those three scoring and I think they all compliment each other well.

Rudy helps out my rebounding numbers, and plays better D than I thought he did after checking his stats on Basketball-reference.

Backcourt? Still working on that. I love the vet leadership here, and plan on getting some youth injected in those spots to help out.

But like Faf stated - it is so hard to work with MEM and a few other teams. MEM was perhaps a solid 8-9 men deep even in the playoffs last year (Darell Authur, Sam Young, OJ Mayo, and even Grevious)

Going forward though I like my team's health. Still looking to tweek some things, but overall it's been a fun game. Hats off to IP, Roy Faf and others for making it work for the most part.
