All right. Time to fire up 2k12 and check those ratings. Looking for players who has a B - A ranking in Perimeter D or Post D that is still available.

Good morning everyone. Soymilk?

By the way. Not trying to be a rear end, but I looked at the board and it says I still have 4.28. I believe I traded that to Celticpride along with the Butler deal for 4.5. Just making sure?

yeah thats your pick
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

Speaking of JR Smith. My team (Raptors, Assoc.) offered that dude 4 year/23 million deal and instead signed with Detroit for 4 years/18 mil. The heck is wrong with him???  ;D

A little advice to the newcomers:

Don't use fantasy basketball rankings or NBA 2K12 rankings and ratings as a way to judge talent and try to fit pieces together. Those things are just awful.

Watch lots of basketball. Go to ESPN stats and ESPN Hollinger stats if you have Insider and get lists. Go to Synergy or 82games.com and do research on the players. Remember what you watched and draw your own conclusions on just how good a basketball player is.

Do this an you are more than likely not going to get the short end of the stick on trades as you will see that these drafts have talent scales. You can figure out where they will start to drop off and so know that sometimes trading a mid third and a 10th for a 5th and 6th rounder isn't a good thing because there's a major difference in the talent levels.

Okay, PapaNick has done his basketball drafting sermon for the day. Be well and draft poorly as the Cavs need talent on their bench.

Guess so. I mean I'd rather play with Monroe and Stuckey than Bargnani and Derozan.

That's not the kind of fundamentals Indiana relates too.

I agree with the sentiment Nick, but I will say that I've found 2k to be a pretty decent tool to see how certain lineups work and how players would mesh. Obviously, it's not flawless but it's an advanced enough game where I do think it presents value here.

But ya, I would definitely use my own eyes over its rankings though. I don't understand advanced stats - not that I don't think it's valuable, I just don't care enough to look into them - so I can't rally speak for that.

Well they both lost their dunk contests, so, since Indiana loves losers I think its okay.

That's why Bird had to leave. Lost at the College level, and had to move in order to nab a title.
