ok so heres my new top 25 if you insist rondo must be in it

dwight
lebron
kobe
wade
durant
aldridge
carmelo
dirk
cp3
deron
blake
love
westbrook
brandon jennings
rose
pierce

no no.  he would blend into the system just like every other player who has come to Boston.

Also, KG paul and Ray would kill him because he doesn't play defense. He plays the passing lanes like a bad Allen Iverson.
No player has come here expecting a starting role.
I have had quite a laugh reading through this debate and listening to you tell everyone they don't understand statistics but you have to understand something.

You lose ALL credibility in telling people they don't understand stats when you can't count to 25. Twice you have listed you top 25 players and haven't come up with more than 16-18 players.

Clearly u have been watching too much football

Clearly you don't know how to use a computer and type in NBA.COM and look at this wonderful thing called statistics.

Actually with the exception of True Shooting-- In which there's a marginal difference and none at all if you remove Rondo's Rookie year-- Rondo is better in all advanced metrics.

I'm posting this again to help Jiri out...this is just a moronic thread where we're all feeding the troll. I'm done now.

Jiri-you could start by just looking at the stats for both. Whats statistics you ask?

Still losing all sorts of credibility when you don't realize you are naming multiple players two times.

In ESPN's top 500 player list, which I have criticized for some of their player placements, Rondo was #17, Ellis #41.

I think that is a pretty fair assessment of where Ellis stands in this league currently.

please, if ainge could get monta he'd pull the trigger.  there is no way rondos game can hold up.  look at how he's performed against the top point guards this year? he's worth more now than he will be after the big 3 are gone.  monta on the other hand is only going up from his already top 25 ranking.

exactly my point,  not even you believe in that list.  furthermore, when was that list made and whom is ranking this?  do statistics alone get you into hof or do coaches gm's etc truly determine a players ranking?

i think kg and ray did....
monta surely would, especially since rondo would be out the door.  we need a team that scores top 25 or not.  fact is, however, monta will require more assets in a trade than rondo.  this, i consider, to be a weighty factor in determining a players abilities.....

i mean, vin baker was a good player too.

no no.  he would blend into the system just like every other player who has come to Boston.

You've got Kobe and Durant twice - I'd put Amare and Bosh in there most likely, but that's just off the top of my head.

I'd also put Rondo, Pau Gasol, Zach Randolph and a few others before Danny Granger.

no he is not the issue but he isn't a top 25 nba player.  if they had one, like ellis, they would be a contender this season

I'd think that anyone who actually witnessed last nights debacle would realize the Rondo is one heck of a player and has a tremendously positive effect on this team regardless of his flaws.  They aren't great with him due mostly to the deterioration and age of his supporting cast but without him they are terrible.

Without Rondo this team would be competing for the most ping pong balls.  Rondo is not the issue with the 1011-2012 Boston Celtics.

Maybe you should relearn your numbers. Not only can you not count to 25 but you also don't seem to understand that 50 is higher than 40.
