I'm guessing Danny didn't think a Gilbert Arenas type fit out team.

I remains to be seen if Brooks is will be efficient in his career. He looks like he will be around for a while though and Danny is looking outplayed at the moment.

 He's averaging 13.7 on a team that is really bad at the moment.  That not a surprise since he is a volume shooter.  Scoring on a bad team has never impressed me much.  Somebody has to score on that team, with Lopez and Williams out of action and he's the guy taking the most shots.

  If he came to Boston he'd have trouble seeing the floor because Doc rarely plays rookies who don't defend very well much other then garbage time.

That Brooks kid would definitely see time in Boston & woulda been a significant deference maker on offense. Filling in for Pierce & Allen off the bench he would still manage 11-13 pts. From the bench in 22-25 minutes. Daniels time would be cut & Sasha could be cut!

  On a team coached by Doc Rivers who doesn't, play rookies unless they can defend.  Good luck!  He'd be riding the pine because his defense isn't up to the standards Doc demands.

  There is a reason he went as late as he did in spite of having very good statistics in college.  He is a one trick pony with many holes in his game, holes that the NBA will expose once they start truly paying attention to him.  He can score and looks really smooth doing so but once teams start to pay attention to him like Boston did in the second half he will either adjust or he will he shut down.

  He also isn't a very good fit on a team that plays it's best when they are moving the ball around.  He is a volume shooter who needs the ball in his hands a lot to succeed.

Brooks looked like a heck of a scorer and player in the first half when every Celtic except Avery Bradley was sleep walking through the game. Once the C's started playing actual team and man defense in the third quarter, Brooks went away.

Says a lot about how his game should be judged right now if you ask me.

What said alot to me is we had to double a rookie the whole second half. That says the kid definitely made a impression on our staff in a good way! Means he is a player worth special attention.

He wasn't being doubled. The team's team defense and rotations finally woke up. Dooling finally started to play some good man defense on him and shuffled him into help. Its how the C's play defense. They didn't double team him.

Don't get me wrong I think the kid can definitely score. He can shoot the rock and if he was on a team with a few star NBA players, he would be getting some good open looks and scoring a bunch on many nights. But I think he can be and will be shut down by better defensive players and teams.

He has great potential and I think the C's might be wondering why they weren't interested in him some years from now. On the other hand, I've heard some rumors about what Brooks is like behind the scene and let's just say he might not be the type of guy Danny and Doc would want to put up with. Still, he's got a will to score, whether its efficient and in the team flow or not will soon be seen.

We did double him, at least twice on the 3rd quarter, I just watched the game on LP.

C's rarely doubles other players, if Brooks can keep on scoring on C's double then he'll be right there with Anthony and Kobe as NBA's best scorers.....

Of course Brooks isn't THAT good, but he's not a one trick pony, the kid has got a box of skills and once he adapted more to the game he'll be as good as Jamal Crawford and Jason Terry.

The Cs doubled Brooks numerous times in the second half.  Most of the time, the kid made the right play out of the double.  A couple of times he forced offense and either turned the ball over or took a poor shot.

It makes me laugh how some posters will throw out broad pronouncements like "Brooks can't play a lick of defense." He looked relatively competitive on D tonight, for a rookie anyways.  He showed good hands, has long arms, and tried to move his feet all night.  On the D league squad we saw last night, if you expected anything better from Brooks on either end of the court you're delusional.

This kid has looked as good an any rookie so far.  Yes he's taken a lot of shots, but on this incredibly bad Nets team, that's the role they need from him.  If Deron Williams can get out of his funk and form some synergy with Brooks, this kid should be on the 1st rookie team this season.   

But that D was against who? Dooling? Bradley? Pavlovic maybe?

If Ray played, he would've gotten a lesson.

That said, Brooks could have definitely helped the second unit immediately out of camp. You could've used Bradley at PG for his defense alone with Brooks and Bass able to create their own offense and Pietrus capable as well. Throw the Steamboat out there with them and that's a fun group to watch.

I'll wait to see exactly what these Purdue kids can do before I give Ainge an F in this past draft for trading a kid who possesses a skill we desperately need.

He's got two steals out of the game, one on Bradley, can't remember the other one, but he almost took the ball away from Pierce, stepped out of bound afterwards. He's got a lot to learn on defense side, but as a rookie, his D isn't too bad.

not necessarily, Bass wasn't known for defense but he's got plenty of time.

C's have plenty of bench defenders, but not enough scorer.
