so our back up wings are daniels (a guy with a LONG list of injuries) and sasha? are you kidding me? in a shortened season? my lord...and the back up 2 guard is averay bradley? wow...not good at all

daniels is made of glass. the guy gets hurt every year and misses more games than he plays. if that is plan B then we are screwed
I think your doubts in the teams depth are completely justified. However, because I am a glass half full kind of guy to a fault, I'm going to talk about Daniel for just a moment.

There have been reports that not only are his spinal problems solved, but that previous injuries that seemed unrelated, were also related to his spinal issue. For instance, his thumb injury that kept him out of his first year in boston was related to his narrowed spine. There's hope that the procedure has made daniels more durable.

There are reasons to be optimist/opportunities to be in denial. However you chose to categorize them.

WEEI is reporting that Jeff Green has left the Boston area for a second opinion.

 :'(

Hoping the best for him and his family.

Wonder why he would leave Boston for second opinion. Aren't some of the best doctors and hospitals in the world right here?

I am sure he is going to see a specialist.  And they are all over the country/world.  He is probably going to see the best, not just one of the best.

Doc only sounds like he is concerned that Green will be missing the beginning of the season. In no way does it sound like he thinks he will be out the year. I think we might be pretty good here.

I thought they were holding a press conference today? Waiting for the second opinion?

Does anybody know if they do stress tests for every player for every contract? Or the beginning of each training camp?

If they don't and had a reason to specifically do one on him, this probably isn't good.

If it is a normal workup that everyone goes through and he's passed before, than I'm not as worried.

I would not be surprised if stress tests are standard after Reggie Lewis (and I think there were some other similar situations in college?).

They still say they should have more information this afternoon or tonight.

Hey, roy, remember your offseason bell curve?  Well, its not a bell anymore.   Its more like a ski slope.

I've actually been waiting for some new info, so hopefully DA fills us in later today.

And for such a physically demanding sport like basketball (and every sport at the professional level), they really should do stress tests annually.

They do a physical at the beginning of every season, when a player is traded, and when they sign a contract. I would be pretty surprised to hear that this was his first stress test.

Just a reminder. Here is what Danny said on Monday:  Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge stressed Monday that Green's ailment, which kept him out of Monday's practice, was not something of major concern.

Also, that was based on having the results of zero tests that were run this week.
