Huh? HIV? It came out allegedly during stress tests, not blood tests.
Correct.

Most probably some sort of irregular heart beat issue, which you can treat with a procedure (electric shock) or medication (blood thinners).

Yeah I'm not getting the leaps to HIV, cancer or vd.

It was a stress test where the condition is revealed. A stress test usually has you on a treadmill running while the test monitors your heart while under duress. Irregular heartbeats, heart valve problems, arrhythmia, heart murmurs and even some lung diseases such as asthma and such can be detected(due to the lack of oxygen and heavy breathing that could be detected).
I hadn't seen anything official that said it came out during a stress test.  I thought that was just a Celticblog member coming up with an assumption.   Fair enough

Are there any indications/reports when Danny will speak to the media about it today?

Some tweets say later this evening??

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

green said he failed the stress test...he shrugged it off to being tired in an interview(obviously doesnt seem thats true).

anyways, getting a second opinion could be viewed as a good or bad thing...maybe 2nd opinion on if he is ok to play, or 2nd opinion on what the appropriate measure should be. we dont know and wont until tonight(hopefully)

if its medication he needs, it shouldnt be too bad

Wouldn't Green have gone through a thorough battery of tests about a year ago when traded to Boston?

So,it would have to be something that was either missed on the last tests, or something that developed within the last year.  Does that rule out (or likely rule out) anything?

Given our history with heart issues (Bias, Lewis), and given that this issue came up during a stress test (which suggests a possible heart issue), my guess it they're being ultra cautious. Which is why no info has really leaked out yet. They probably want to be 100% sure about whatever diagnosis they have. Hopefully, it's not too serious.

I'm really worried about Green's health, for him personally (it would suck if he had a severe disease) and for the team (the Celtics really NEED Green this year).

Hopefully it's nothing serious, too bad we have not been informed about his condition yet!

Starting to sound more and more like the KG situation in '09 and Shaq's situation last year... not a good sign.

eh, I dont think its really the same as shaq/kg because its not really an injury...ill give him benefit of the doubt that they are just waiting for the new test results from the 2nd doctor.

I dont get though why its so secretive when we can know that Chuck hayes has heart issues

I agree.  They could prolong the whole Shaq/KG thing, but I don't see how you indefinitely prolong this decision.  They're test results; they should know relatively soon.

this quote makes me feel worse..

"He's down now," Pierce told CSNNE.com. "I had a chance to sit down with him in his locker the other day, and I just told him to keep his head up regardless of what's happening, and just try to stay positive. Whatever happens either way, whether he's able to play or not play, just stay positive and use it for motivation if it's the latter."
