I do love the people that thought Jeff Green was a horrible player, a complete waste of money and minutes for the team, but now suddenly with this POSSIBLE health concern he is integral to our title chances. You can't have it both ways, people.
Its often different people, though not always.

Yeah it usually is different people, different opinions.

Im sure some flip flop.

And what, pray-tell, does that tell you, Doctor?

Im sure some flip flop.

People on these boards just generally seem to be incredibly "trigger happy." Even the slightest hint of a rumor about anything sends them proverbially running to the hills. Every thread here is full of all sorts of overreactions before we get the whole story. It can be a bit irritating sometimes, there are threads that seem to get hijacked by arguments over elements of a story that become irrelevant the next day when the rumor is squashed.

Doesn't tell me much.  I think at this point we can assume it is not something minor that they are worried about.  But this doesn't tell us how the results came back, because he might be seeking a second opinion, whether the results were positive or negative.

Not really, other than it tells us he won't be ready for the start of the season.

It could be something that can be controlled with medication or something that requires a procedure to correct. Either way its a major enough issue that Green should be seeking second opinions about it.

Has it been confirmed that he left for a second opinion? It's not on WEEI's site and they aren't talking about it on the air.

The way the original report is worded, it sounds like something that may have to do with irregular heartbeat. At least that's one heart issue that can be fixed with a procedure, or controlled with medication.

I'm not sure it even tells us that.  I think there is a chance they will come out of this clearing him to play immediately.  He might be behind the curve because of it, but could still play next Sunday.

Of course, I am not counting on it, but I don't think seeking a second opinion means anything at all.

This will get (sadly) interesting.  We have the historical aspect of Reggie Lewis, and that still lingers even after 20 years.

Hopefully we're all wrong on this and he's just got a severe case of hemorrhoids. :)

The fact that Danny Ainge is the GM has me think of the worst case scenario. Whenever a player gets hurt, Danny tries to downplay the injury/condition, and the injury is worse than what we thought. Danny is worse than the Black Knight from Monty Python.

Who is saying that Green is integral to the team's title chances? The C's are not winning a title with this old team.

I understand people's knee-jerk reaction to hypothesize about what's going on, and it's made worse by the C's lengthy history of refusing to report on injuries, but folks we have NO IDEA what's really going on here.  If anyone needs medication around here, it's all these "Jeff Green has a heart condition" fortune tellers: take a chill pill.

Time will tell.  To each their own, but I'm hoping for the best and waiting on more concrete information before getting all wound up.

losing Green would hurt, but it doesn't change what we need to do.  doc needs to set and STICK to strict minute limits for the big 3.  Play them less in back to backs.  this is officially a make or break season, people need to get used to the idea that we might not finish in the top 4 in the east, but our goal should simply be to make the playoffs.  we showed in '08 we don't need home court to get through the east, and we played some VERY GOOD teams that year.  we decimated the Cavs, and made the Magic a laughingstock, these were teams every analyst gushed about before they met the C's.  if we keep them fresh and have them playing like they did for most of last season going into these playoffs, I really like our chances.

My thoughts exactly.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.
