So when will we know something? By today? Its tough to believe Danny when it comes to these things because didn't he say he expected KG back and all of that good stuff. I really hope its nothing really bad. I like Jeff Green seems like a really nice person and would love for him to be a part of this team.

they just put some added comments from Doc on the ESPNBoston blog.

[quoteWhat it would take away from us is going small. You gameplan all summer about the small lineup we’re gonna run with Kevin [Garnett] and Jeff, and then if he [can’t play], that’s gone. That’s a month of work you have to throw away.”][/quote]

If Rivers still didn't get the message that Green can't play the 4, maybe it's a good thing he'll be out.

On the bright side, it said Rivers was joking with reporters about him going to see doctors in Mexico.. so there's that..

WEEI is reporting that Jeff Green has left the Boston area for a second opinion.

 :'(

Hoping the best for him and his family.

Hope he's not paying a visit to Dr. Gilbert Mudge...
Not even remotely funny.  you should be forced to wear a Laker uniform and Kobe mask for the season   >:(

Just a reminder. Here is what Danny said on Monday:  Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge stressed Monday that Green's ailment, which kept him out of Monday's practice, was not something of major concern.

Also, that was based on having the results of zero tests that were run this week.

Then Danny should have kept his mouth shut. How many times is he going to lie/misspeak about injuries --- KG, Shaq, etc. before he starts getting called out on it? I hope he is right in this case and it is not a serious issue for Green. That said, Danny is better off saying nothing about injuries if he does not have the information.

Jeff can play the 4 when other teams go small (eg NYK with Carmello at the 4).  Allows us to keep Ray and Paul on the wings.

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari

I think it's a little ridiculous to have a GM say "no comment" when asked any and all questions about medical issues. I don't think he's lying/misspeaking about injuries, I think that the doctors can't predict the duration of injuries or any setbacks during rehab with the accuracy that you're hoping for. Clearly you remember Shaq and KG being out longer than expected, on the other side of the coin both Tony Allen and Perk came back from their knee injuries months ahead of time.

Seems like Jeff Green isn't the only player with heart abnormalities showing up in a stress test:

Quote
Chuck Hayes was a big free agent signing for the Sacramento Kings — they needed someone to actually play defense and bring some consistency to the frontcourt and Hayes will do all that.

Or rather, he will once he gets back on the court.

He was pulled off it Thursday because a stress echocardiogram revealed a heart abnormality. What that means exactly is more tests will be run on him so they can find out exactly what that means.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/16/kings-chuck-hayes-held-out-of-practice-after-heart-test/

I think both players will be fine and on the court before long but in the mean time best wishes out to them both.

Wasn't trying to be funny...  I was suggesting that Jeff needs to caution that some doctor doesn't tell him what he WANTS to hear.  Trust me, I remember the Reggie Lewis saga like yesterday...I was 21 when it all went down.

Do we have any hints at all as to what this mystery condition is?  It's really bizarre how "mysterious" they are keeping it.

I know Celtic fans immediately jump to "OMG heart condition!", but with how cryptic they are being... anything from cancer to HIV would seem plausible.   Very strange.  I hope it's nothing THAT serious.

HIV or vd would be a good guess as to it would explain all the secrecy (to protect green).
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

As would cancer, I believe...  we don't seem to know anything.  WHen they said "procedure or medication" i immediately thought, "does medication mean like...  chemotherapy?... does procedure mean cutting out the growth?"... "Will probably be fine long term, but we don't know how long that will take"... all made me think "Cancer".

I don't mean to scare anyone.  I'm just saying that we know nothing right now.  And it's very odd how quiet they are keeping it.  If it's something like cancer, I can understand why it's not being blasted to the media and why they'd want a second opinion.  There are a ton of things we can speculate it is, though... "heart condition" is just the leap-to-conclusions Boston Celtic reaction, because of Reggie Lewis.  For all we know he just has some numbness in his foot.

Huh? HIV? It came out allegedly during stress tests, not blood tests.

Yeah I'm not getting the leaps to HIV, cancer or vd.

It was a stress test where the condition is revealed. A stress test usually has you on a treadmill running while the test monitors your heart while under duress. Irregular heartbeats, heart valve problems, arrhythmia, heart murmurs and even some lung diseases such as asthma and such can be detected(due to the lack of oxygen and heavy breathing that could be detected).
