I bet the Hornets will get the number 1 pick no matter what T-Wolves record is!!! Just like Knicks got Ewing, Magic got O'Neal, Bulls got Rose and so on..it will be rig
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

at least its not the lakers or Knicks

although Felger(as much as I dont like him) made a good point...the league is abit of a joke when players would rather play for a franchise like the Clippers over the celtics.

With CP3 and Marc Gasol gone; and Dwight's lack of interest in Celtics, who do we sign next year? :-\

Guess we sign everyone to reduced 1 year deals, try to get a more legit 5, and run it back until 2013.

Edit: or, a bunch of scrubs to 1 year deals, blatant tank for picks, then make a splash in 2013

2013 FAs:
Maggette, Baron, Josh Smith, Kevin Martin, David West, Mo Williams, Andrew Bynum, Anthony morrow, Chris Paul, jarret jack, Jameer Nelson, Elton Brand, Louis Williams, Gerald Wallace, Manu, Calderon, Al Jefferson, Devin Harris, Milsap, rashard lewis.

Plus a bunch of RFAs.

A murderer's row.

Would love to add Josh Smith, Kevin Martin and Big Al if possible in 2013, we can amnesty PP cant we ?

A core of Rondo, Smith, Martin nd big Al is easily a 50 win team IMO. Still we wouldn't be contender for a championship,  but some relatively young talent to build around with good defenders with Rondo and Smith and go to scorers with Big Al and Martin.

I think that's the best the c's can hope for for the next 5 years....

Pretty ruthless to amnesty Pierce. But maybe (maybe!) you could get a Rondo/Martin/Pierce/Smith/Bynum group.

If Rondo is going to be a part of the core team next year and going forward, he needs shooters around him.  Martin would be a good place to start.   Eric Gordon would be great next to Rondo if we could ever deal with NO down the line.

I hope the Clippers need a year to get adjusted to their new team so that draft pick is still attractive to us.

Haven't we  ::) been down this road before?

Why does the media have to say pending league approval?

The leaks to the media is what drives fans nuts.

I guess that is the downside to twitter, and the Internet blogging.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I'm not worried about that. The Clippers basically have 2 great players now and a good defensive center, that's it. They will be better for sure, but they are not top 5-10 in the league, even with a full training camp. This helps us with the pick because if it was in the top 10, as it was likely to be before the CP3 trade, then we would not get it this year and miss out on an extra pick in the deepest draft in ages in a crucial point for our rebuilding process. This is great news for us. A pick between 15-20 can land a great player in this draft.

Bittersweet since I like both teams. Man, suddenly Monday's Clippers/Lakers Exhibition game is going to be must see TV.

By the way, OP or Mod should change the thread title.

Horrible trade for Clips. If Paul gets hurt that franchise will be in the gutter for just a 2 year player.

Let's line up our contracts with lots of cap space for when Chris Paul will be a free agent next.  Just kidding.  ;D

I remember I started a half-serious topic asking whether the Clippers would win a championship before the Lakers. Guess I should have bet some money?

If you think they will win a championship with this team, you are new to the NBA.

The Lakers screwed themselves big time trying to get CP3. The Clippers at least have a core to build around. Let's hope the Lakers continue tanking and never get Howard.

I wonder with the loss of Odom, a strikeout to a Paul trade and possible strikeout with a Howard trade, if Kobe will cry and demand a trade at somepoint if they have a subpar season. Bynum is already missing the first 5 games and I imagine they won't get off to a strong start.
