So what now, we get the 24th pick in next years draft?

Can the Clippers cut Billups now? Or do they have to keep him until the season ends?

I am guessing and hoping they'll be going for some fun Paul/Billups backcourt lineups.

Chris Mannix answered it.

Quote
On Billups, the Clippers cannot trade him. But they can outright cut him. It would be a huge waste of $2 million but they can do it.

As for Billups at two-guard, I don't see it. Tough matchup for him defensively. He will probably push to be let go.

Really hope they don't cut Billups. I'd prefer him to Mo Williams. (Of course, I'd prefer a sharp stick in the eye to Mo Williams.)

Would be strange: if cut and claimed, Billups could be paid by three teams in the same season.

Hmmm, I don't think so.  I think they'll try to talk him into staying and playing the 2.  With Gordon gone, they have nothing but him to trot out there.

Stern certainly looks vindicated in the veto motion now. Great to see the Clippers pushing into prominence. It will be interesting to see if they can capture the attention of LA sports fans, to the Lakers detriment.

With CP3 and Marc Gasol gone; and Dwight's lack of interest in Celtics, who do we sign next year? :-\

Well we also earned the right to pay Jeff Green 9 million dollars plus 9 million in tax to give us his ~13 PER off the bench! Yay!

This is a really good deal for New Orleans when you consider what Utah received in trading Deron Williams to New Jersey.

The Nets will send Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, two first-round draft picks and cash considerations to Utah for the All-Star point guard.

Guess we sign everyone to reduced 1 year deals, try to get a more legit 5, and run it back until 2013.

Edit: or, a bunch of scrubs to 1 year deals, blatant tank for picks, then make a splash in 2013

My only problem with this deal: what happens when Gordon says "thanks, but no thanks" and this saga happens again next year?
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

Then we trade Rondo for him and sign D-will and Dwight.
