David West will be a nice addition for Indiana.

PG - D.Collison, G.Hill
SG - P.George, D.Jones
SF - D.Granger, B.Rush
PF - D.West, T.Hansbrough
C  - R.Hibbert, J.Foster

They have a nice squad there. Not enough top tier talent to do anything unless Paul George makes a huge leap but I like their balance and depth. The mix of talent.

I think they'll be alright this year but nothing special. Next year they have a good shot at being a great team. Playoff team this year but still the 5-8 seed I bet.

Obviously they're very young which hurts them plus the lack of time to get West up to speed. And most ACL tears take a year until the guy is back to normal.

Really annoying that he chose money but that's the NBA for you.

Its the type of team that gets you close to 50 hard wins, is a threat to beat any team on any night, and will likely drive a team nuts before going down in the 1st or 2nd round.

sounds like the celtics without david west.

To be accurate, Boston had a sign-and-trade with New Orleans for David West ready to do. West wanted more money annually, took Pacers offer.

Glad he wanted to sign for a contender...Idiot...
I wasn't crazy about him anyway

Good riddance

there you go.  i knew it wasn't about JO's contract.  it was all about the $$.

the money for david west was always what made the sign and trade seem too good to be true.

Agreed, but West would have had a better shot by signing with us.

Either West is just an other greedy bum, or there some thing about his knee he didn't want to say to take more money on a short amount of time.

Watch now Bird goes after CP3.

So any bets on who gets booed more when they come to town? West or CP3????

Neither one really wanted to come here.

The anger at David West is predictable, I guess, but in my opinion unfounded.  He took a deal for more money and probably a bigger role?  Good for him.  It's probably what most of us would have done in the same situation.

I'm disappointed, but not with David West.

Oh well good riddance i say

paying $10mill for a 31yr old doesnt really make sense. If i were Danny I would completley forget about 2012 because were not getting Howard, and i would trade KG + Allen while they still have some value left

Whats the point in letting them walk next season for nothing if we cant sign anyone next summer?

Bring back some players for KG. im sure we could get a decent PF in return

Yep, no reason to be mad at a player for doing what they feel is best for them...especially if they were never a Celtic in the first place.

Thoughts? That both loads NO up with young talent and gives them financial flexibility.  Indiana can even throw picks in there.

I read somewhere that Paul George grew another inch during the offseason, and now stands at 6'10".

I also hear that the Pacers may look to S&T McRoberts for O.J. Mayo.
Wow, a 6-10 two guard. If only he had a post game! Or any type of power game whatsoever!

Paul George is a really exciting prospect. I can't wait to see what he does next. How he develops this season. One of the young players in the league I am most excited about.

I don't like that S+T for Indiana. I think they are better off without OJ Mayo. That he will only make them worse. OJ Mayo is a downgrade from George Hill (plays defense) as a backup combo guard. And I prefer Brandon Rush as a wing (as a big two with P.George going to the three) because Rush has real size, plays defense and rebounds.

except he took fewer years and he went to a team that will give him less chance at going far in the playoffs.

im not mad at him, but i do think his decision to sign with the pacers instead is stupid.

pacers give up way too much in that trade.  plus, no way cp3 re-signs in a small market like indiana.

Too much from Indy, likely not happening anyways.
