TP for the topical signature. Who are you, Murphy Brown?

not getting the reference.  before my time?  :P

ha, that's the point. The joke is that Murphy Brown did topical humor in their sitcoms. Don't worry, I've never seen it either, that's why its funny.

People over 35 are hilarious, amirite???? ;)

absolutely

As teams wait to re-engage Hornets on Chris Paul, here's one executive: "Truly feel for those guys, but we're all gonna lowball them now."
This doesn't make any sense. Since the league shot down the LA deal because it was "low-ball", how is it going to allow any _other_ low-ball deal?

I think the idea is that the league isn't going to allow ANY trade to LA, not just that it voided this particular one, thereby reducing the Hornet's negotiating leverage.

Frankly, the Lakers should immediately offer Bynum, Odom, Artest and a 1st round pick for Paul and Emeka Okafor.  I think it'd be much harder to argue against that trade.

Trade Rondo + Green + Clips first + Basketball reasons.

That's an offer Demps and Stern can't refuse. Get it done, Danny!

anybody else a little less stressed out over this Chris Paul trade to LA now that Dwight Howard has made it known he wants to be in New Jersey?

Any reason that Howard planned to make the Jersey trade request only because Paul to LA fell apart?

I am officially done with CP3 rumors.  Until he's signed, sealed, and delivered, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Personally I don't think he is coming here, but I thought the quote from the GM was funny.

That quote was funny.  I'm done with the CP3 issue as well.  Once we actually started signing players and I had something else to think about, I stopped caring.  Now I care more about JJJ, and who our backup center is gonna be.  With Bass, Quis, + Dooling in the fold, a legit backup center would be enough to make me look forward to the season with some confidence.

Of course these three teams are engaged again. Wouldn't they want to try again? They all just tried to trade players and then the deal was vetoed. It's not really their decision, though, which means for some disgruntled players.

Yeah, but apparently the Hornets are discussing other deals too :

Sources confirm New Orleans is talking Chris Paul deals again. 3-team deal w/ Lakers, Hou might still have hope, but others discussed too.

Dwight Howard could, and likely will, change his mind pretty quickly should that CP3 trade go through.

I don't think his interest in NJ is anything to find comfort in until a deal has been finalized.
