Wow, that is a really surprising trade.

What is Memphis going to do for a backup PG? I do like Quincy Pondexter though. Interesting defensive weapon, very versatile. He has a lot more to prove than Vasquez though.

I like the trade for New Orleans. Very good. They needed a backup PG behind Jarrett Jack and they didn't have much need for Pondexter with Aminu coming over (to backup Ariza) from the Chris Paul trade.

Probably use Mayo as a combo guard now.

It sounded to me like Lionel Hollins absolutely hated the Mayo @ PG experiment the last time round.

I agree it's their best option though. In fact, I'd love to see them to do so.

Oh, that Jeremy Pargo chap? Can he play the point?

Edit: Oh, he is a PG. I thought he was a two. Guess he is their man then. I thought he was 6-5, 6-6. Only 6-2. Says he's 219lbs though, must be a tough physical kind of PG.

He's a PG, and was one of the best PG's in euroleague last season. Memphis have nothing to worry about.

In that case, I really like what Memphis is doing on the perimeter

PG - Mike Conley, Jeremy Pargo, Josh Selby
SG - Sam Young, OJ Mayo, Xavier Henry
SF - Rudy Gay, Tony Allen, Quincy Pondexter

That is a very impressive group of players. Imposing physically. Big strong players with good size and lots of quickness. They are going to be very difficult to play against. They'll make life very uncomfortable for the opponent.

PF - Zach Randolph, Darrell Arthur, Dante Cunningham
C  - Marc Gasol, Brian Skinner

Shame they lost Darrell Arthur to injury. They would have one of the best benches in the league with him in the lineup. Their backup bigs are more than a tad sketchy without Arthur.

Are they starting Sam Young?  I thought for sure they'd go with Tony in the starting lineup, after he was such a catalyst last year.

No idea whatsoever.

I looked up the lineups for the two pre-season games, Tony was starting. Not Young. Looks like TA is the guy.

This doesn't happen every day: Undrafted rookie point guard Julyan Stone of UTEP made Denver's opening day roster.

Stone, a big point guard, had been in demand for training camps. Denver secured him over Knicks, Pacers, others. He's a real prospect.

Fesenko's one-year deal with Golden State is for the rest of the Ws' cap space: approx $1.07 million, source says.

Fesenko would have looked good here.

I'm just glad that MIA didn't get him.

This isn't official but Brandon Roy is expected to sign for spanish team Caja Laboral. He was seen at the airport in Vitoria last night with his agent.
Caja Laboral is out of Euroleague so they will be playing only one game a week for the rest of the season. That would give him enough time to recover between the games.
Here is the link (in spanish):
